The pull of leather, always leather, was uncomfortable over her top, restricting and suffocating, and she itched to just take it off. Leather was really only a commodity in her district among the many luxuries that they did manage to have and no one really wore it due to how ill-fitting it was in the heat as well as the cold, something intended more for style instead of actual functionality.

It was ridiculous how the designers just believed fundamentally that leather was the only way to dress district 10, though probably not as silly as how Johanna must have felt about her stupid tree themed attire. Terra could imagine that her friend was seething wherever she was, yelling a string of profanities that could make even the foulest individual blush.

She pulled uncomfortably at her clothes, scowling to herself as she trudged along to join the rest of the tribunes in line, hissing when someone knocked against the two buns that were intricately knotted at the top of her head. She was incredibly thankful that her dress only had leather at the top half, the skirt part a flowing lace pattern that reminded her a lot of her mother's tablecloth though not nearly as revealing.

It was a gross twist on her usual, pretty sundresses that screamed of innocence. With the way she looked now, the audience would find it hard to believe that she was the same individual if not for the buns that she insisted upon. Really, Terra would not blame them should they dislike her clothes as much as she did.

Lux put a careful hand on her shoulder from behind, turning her so that she was facing the front and forced to watch the other interviews in a settled fashion as she tried to keep a snarl from forming on her lips.

Whispers and mutters passed between the pairs of each district, between friends as they reassured one another and tried their best to keep themselves from falling prey to their anger. No one wanted to be here, Johanna was quite verbal with that as she spewed her hatred in front of the live audience, baring her teeth as though they were a deadly weapon and she knew that most everyone watching knew that they were if the district 7 girl was ever cornered.

Chaff behind her told a silly joke to seeder that had Lex chuckling and nudging Terra for her attention but the girl didn't look back, couldn't as she stared forward with a strained smile at the crowd and wondered what she was going to be saying once she was out there.

She couldn't bring on the tears like Gloss and Cashmere or appeal to the female population like Finnick with declarations of love that she knew were meant for her with the way he was not so subtle with his glances behind him. Terra had innocence and anger and so much pain that she was scared the words would jumble on her tongue and she would be blushing bright like she did when she was younger with as she fidgeted in her seat. Her words now were the only weapon she could use to turn the odds in her favour for a better chance at survival even if it meant that the survival wasn't her own.

Because it was all for Katniss and Peeta, right? Terra needed to make sure they lived for the rebellion so no one would need fear for their children ever again.

Prodding her lip with her tongue Terra inched forward when it was her turn and gave the crowd a little shy wave as she worked her way to Caesar with her best imitation of a timid girl playing at strong heart.

"Terra Combe! Our sweet little cowgirl sweet no more, look at that dress!" Caesar crowed, waving his hands at the girl as she approached.

"Thank you! I think they were going for a darker theme this time around," Terra smiled cheekily with her tongue pressed between her teeth and a tilt to her head that helped direct it toward the crowd.

She felt sick to her stomach and they cried how adorable she looked standing there.

"They certainly reached their goal, that dress screams your anger loud and clear. Are you angry, Terra?"
