"You don't have to be afraid," the tall girl whispered. "I'll teach you."

Taylor shivered slightly, melting into the warm lips against her cool skin, the long fingers artfully intertwined with her hair.

Her lips were soft.

That was all she knew

Her lips were so soft.

Before Taylor could pull away, the taller girl's tongue was in her mouth.

She wanted to open her eyes, catch just a glimpse of what this beautiful girl looked like. But she couldn't. She wanted to stay here, in this moment, forever. Here, where nobody could touch her.

She felt invincible.

She'd never felt like this before, like she could float up to the sky and bring down whichever stars she pleased. It was pure bliss.

Euphoria.

When the taller girl finally pulled away, Taylor exhaled loudly, trying to search the darkness far enough to find the girl. All she could see was her silhouette, long, elegant, perfect.

She felt teeth lightly tug her earlobe.

"You're a tease," Taylor choked out, pink cheeks hidden by the dimness engulfing her.

"Are you still afraid?" It was taunting, almost like a dare.

"Teach me," she begged.

"Taylor?"

Taylor stirs in bed, her hair sticking to her forehead with sweat, tiny curls forming around her temples.

"I'm heading to the gym and then to a couple meetings, I won't be back until late tonight. There's muffins in the kitchen if you want. Love you."

The singer barely sees Karlie through the sleep in her eyes and mumbles something that sounds like an agreement.

Damn it Karlie. You couldn't have waited to wake me up until my dream ended?

Her chest tight, Taylor falls back onto her pillows. Her eyes drift to the ceiling, scanning for something that she'd never find. She stays like this for an hour, blue eyes glassy.

She feels so far away.

She wishes more than anything that she could roll over and cuddle into the girl, wrap her arms around her, sleep the day away as the sunshine streamed through the windows.

She feels guilty.

Yesterday, when Karlie had asked her if she'd done anything with her mystery girl, she'd lied. She'd said no.

She could never forget how they kissed.

How prolonged the silence was, how it swelled around her and filled her ears until all she could hear was her breath.

How everything around her had disappeared and turned to tiny prisms of light that danced overhead, as if swaying along with her.

She will never forget that moment, but she so desperately wishes she could.

It's torture, to become so quickly enraptured with someone that you barely know. It shouldn't even be possible, to have every breath hang on one singular person, every heartbeat echo their name, like some sort of twisted joke.

It might be easier, if Taylor could only find her. If she could wrap her in her arms one time, ask her if what she was feeling was real, if it would ever be reciprocated.
