CHAPTER #4

Ruby's POV,

As we walked through the forest, I cant help but frown because of Kent's instructions while we were walking. He keeps telling us about he's expressions and feelings when someone (or I meant 8 girls) confessing their likes to him. I rolled my eyes because of that thought. Everybody knows that there were a lot of girls confessing their feelings to him couple of times, but he just makes it like it was new to him. All I know, he was just being HUMBLE, or maybe boasting about it.

I ignored him by reading my book with the flashlight that they gave to us. I know its ridiculous but I really need a distraction from Kent's story telling. I didnt bring my headphones because it will be a DISTRACTION in our field trip.

Frowning, I went near into a big pine tree and broke a stick. I dont know what came into me but I just played the stick and twirl or throw the stick a couple of times.

Crack!

I immediatly turned around and point my flashlight at the sound it comes from. I was shaking, not because of fear, its because my groupmates just started yelling and screaming, making me wanted to kill them this moment. I am pretty sure that it doesn't comes from the stick
I was holding.

I took a step forward, holding the flashlight tightly and being aware what comes next. "Ruby!"

I turned around and saw them holding their hands tightly while Teo was looking at me, once again he hissed, " Don't go any further!". I rolled my eyes again and looked at him blankly.

"And why not?" I said. I know I'm being stubborn so what? What if it was just a little cute rabbit? Or maybe a deer?. He glared at me because of my responce. I ignored him and took another step forward gently, making sure it wont scare away. "I told you to dont go any further". This time, it was authorative and cold.

I know he was making it sound different to make me scared but I once took a step forward, not minding his caution. I was a little there when something jumps from behind the bush. It went straight towards me and landing its claws to my jacket and my arm. I fell down while the creature was towering me. I screamed my heart out, followed by my groupmates who was still staring at the feline creature.

I stood up ran away from this....creature! I hooked my wrist to Kent's shoulders and started to panick. When the creature went to the light, when I saw what it was....I just wanna curse myself. Ugh!, I didn't know that it was....argh,....this is so embarassing, I mean..I got scared...because of a CAT?

I mean seriously? I glared at the cat as it walked and purred at Blade Now I know who's cat is this. It's from Blade's friend...who was it again? I'm not really good at remembering names but I reamembered it was a popular. I immeadiatly unhooked my wrist to Kent's shoulders and pretend that nothing happened.

"This is the first time you got scared Ruby, and it was from a cat!" Blade said teasingly.

"Yeah!"seconded by Kent.

I glared at them. Who wouldn't got scared when an unknown creature was about to jump towards you? Who won't be?

"I wasn't scared,and don't call me Ruby liked we were friends"

They stopped teasing me and looked at me with an unexplainable expression on their faces. I grabbed my flashlight and walked towards the trail. Did I went to far? I'm not very sociable so I dont know anything about this. I secretly glanced at time and saw them whispering. I turned back and sigh.

I have been very mean to them and I think it's right. I dont want any of them to feel sorry and most of the time just tells me that everything is right...when it's not. I like to be alone and face my fears all by myself, not wanting to make everyone to get hurt. I contiuned walking.....wishing that maybe someone will understand.

Blade's POV,

I really wish that Ruby will considered us being her friend. I know she is having a hard time in school, especially for what had happended 2 years ago. I looked at her back as we walked our way out to the end of the forest. She is really....different. She is the type who would be honest to her feelings and do everything that she wishes to do and not follows those who told her to.

I smiled when I remembered our first meeting, not to mention in the cafeteria....

Flashback....

2 years ago.....

I was entering the cafeteria door when some mean popular girls went towards me and smirked. I was a normal nerd, wearing big glasses and wear big and lousy clothes. They started laughing at me and throws cup of cola, water, and coffee at my face, and one smacked me a pie in the face.

I wanted to cry, but that would show that I looked pathetic. They pushed me through the wall and once again throws me another pie on my face.

"You really are the most ridiculous and ugly person we see"

As they walked away towards the cafeteria door and vanished in my sight, I cried my heart out and covers my face. 5 minutes past by, and someone holded my wrist and drag me into the girls restroom. The person throws a jacket, a skirt, and a t-shirt into my face. It also gives me a tennis shoes.

Before I could see this person's face, she pushed me into the cubicle and shut the door. I have no choice but to wear them. When I went out the cubicle, I was face to face with the person they said that almost killed a teacher. I mentally step back and blick my eyes a couple of times, making sure that I 'm not seeing someting...impossible.

She just tsked at my reaction and was about to leave when I spoke,

"W-why are you....d-doing this?"

She looked at me, maybe studying my features right now and sight,

"Maybe because....we are just the same". She went out and I was there standing, and wondering what she was talking about....

End of flashback.

I smiled when I finally have an answer to her statement. We are both....scared.

I was walking when I heard something behind us. We all looked back and saw a............ 7-foot tall creature, with big red eyes, and a smile that brings electricity in my spines.

When he laughed and took a step forward, I dont know what happened but I saw myself running away, and being away to my friends and being scattered around, finding a way to escape the creature that gives fear to......
