Teaching him a lesson

Chapter 1: First day of school

I walked into the school building. I first ran to my locker and started putting my things in it. I heard someone call my name, as I turn around I find my best friend Veronica.

"Alina! I missed you so much !" Veronica shouted from the other end of the corridor.

I was waiting for her to come to my locker when someone just bumped into me. It was Alex. Shit! He was my crush since middle school and he bumped into me. I started to get hyper.

He looked at me.His eyes were mesmerizing. I just got lost in them.

"I'm sorry. I did not see you there " Alex winked at me.

"I--umm--nn," I stammered.

He smiled at me in confusion then started to walk away. He turned around once again to look at me.

I just got lost in his eyes again.

"Are you okay, Alina?" Veronica's voice broke my reverie.

"I guess" I was still not over our little chat.

I know it was not an ideal chat but for me, it was an achievement because I actually did not faint this time.

We started walking towards our classes. We actually had the same schedule this year.

Our first class was economics.

I have always loved studying economic and today we were gonna study microeconomics.

As I was going through the chapter of demand, I felt someone's eyes on me.

I look in that direction. It was Alex, again.

I started to get hyperactive again.

He smiled and then waved at me.

And can you believe what I did next ?

I ignored him and started to talk to Veronica. Then again I looked at him, this time he was looking at the board.

Did he actually wave to me?

"Miss Gomez, can you tell me the difference between a substitute and related goods? " Mrs. McGuire asked.

Is there something on my face? (Still lost in my thoughts.)

"Are you okay miss Gomez? " Mrs. McGuire asked with concern.

No answer. Still thinking.

"Miss Gomez?"

Veronica pinched me on the arm.

"Ahh" I screamed in pain.

"Veronica! Are you out of your mind?!"

"Miss Gomez? Do you know the answer? " Mrs. McGuire asked

Ignoring her I told Veronica " Alex just waved at me? I can't believe he is aware of my existence" I told her, shocked.

The class started laughing.

I looked at the class, embarrassed of what I just said. And I took a quick glance at Alex. He was smiling and a blush was forming on his face! I can't believe this.

" I think it's enough of you guys and miss Gomez it would be really grateful for you if you pay attention in the class" Mrs. McGuire yelled.

I shifted lower on my seat. Tried to become invisible to the class. Oh! how I wish I had some power to disappear! somewhere!

When the class ended without thinking twice I jumped out of my seat ran out-of the class. Someone stopped me by holding my arm. I turned around and to my surprise, it was Alex! F**k!

" That was pretty funny, I don't think it's that unbelievable " he winked at and I blushed at his comment.

I smiled at him and then he walked away.

"Shit ! you are so in love Alina" Veronica shouted Breaking my thoughts.

"You are so annoying ,Veronica !" I shouted back. " And no I don't even like Alex! He is just some bad-ass boy!"

"You are such a liar Ali, " Veronica said.

I didn't respond this time.

We walked together to our next class. And thank god! she didn't mention about Alex's anymore.

Half the day was over and it was time for lunch. Lunch was my favorite time of the day.

I took two slices of pizza and pulpy orange. I was looking for a vacant seat when I saw Veronica waving at me with a smile.

I sat next to her.

Then I saw Alex enter the hall with his friends " the popular group of our school"

I tried to avoid him but then I saw him walking towards our table. I started to panic.

Next thing I know, he was sitting right next to me.

" Hey, Alina ". Alex said with a wink.

"H-ii... a-le-x..." I stammered.

"You look cute when you're nervous," he said

I blushed at his comment. Did he just compliment me?

" I am not nervous" with a little confidence this time.

"Ya, sure! I need a favor from you Alina " he said.

Does he need a favor? from me?

"Ya sure ? " I asked a little nervous

"Well I needed help in economic and I need you to help Me" He said.

" But I am not so good at academics"

"Probably but you score good in economics, actually you're among the Topper's," he said

He was right economics was the only subject in which I was good.

"Umm... Okay ? " I said, a little unsure of what to say.

"Okay then Alina meet you on Saturday then" he smirked and sat on his regular table.

" Wow Alina ! that was pretty amusing"

Veronica said.

I didn't respond and started eating my pizza before it gets cold.

Rest of the day went by fast and I walked out of the school building with Veronica
