Zoe's POV

I reached the door of the little flower shop, late again. The bells jingled as I walked through the front door. My coworker, Joelle whipped her head around to my direction.

"Zoe!" She screamed running up to me.

"Oh my god where have you been? You are so lucky that today wasn't a day that the boss decided to randomly pop in. You're an hour late, where were you?" She said loudly standing in front of me. Joelle is 20, which it 2 years older then me, so she's always been like a protective older sister.

"I'm sorry, I was at starbucks and I guess I just lost track of time." I replied back. She scoffed.

"Lost track of time? Zoe, I know you. You go to Starbucks all the time before work and you're never late on those days. Why were you today? I mean what could be so interesting about sitting alone in a starbucks doing nothing?" Joelle asked. My eyes widened and I felt my face starting to heat up before quickly looking down. Joelle was hit with realization and a smirk was forming on her face.

"You weren't at Starbucks alone, were you." She crossed her arms over her chest clearly loving her newfound information. I felt my face heating up even more if it was even possible. As if on cue, the bell on the door jingled and in walked none other than Michael Clifford himself.

"Hey Zoe!" He said cheerfully. I looked at him confused.

"Michael? Why are you here?I literally saw you like 10 minutes ago." I said to the boy.

"I know but I was lonely and bored" Michael said in a whiney voice.

"Ohh so you're the one who made Zoe late to work." Joelle said while smirking at him.

"Um, ya sorry about that." Michael said looking down.

"Ok well I need to go to the caterer and pick up our new flowers so I'm taking the truck. I'll be back in 2 hours, so Zoe, obviously you're in charge since we are the only two workers here. Oh! and please don't destroy the store while I'm gone." Joelle then left the store leaving me and Michael.

"So, what should we do?" Michael asks looking at me. Is he serious?

"Michael, are you kidding me? I need to work, so you should just go home." I said to the boy.

"Nooo! I want to stay here!" He whined.

"I promise I won't do anything bad" He finished.

"Michael, you sound like a child."

"Please? I'll just sit at the counter while you work."

"Won't that be boring?" I asked him.

"Nothing seems boring if you're with me." He said quitely. I felt myself blushing so I looked dwon hoping he couldn't see.

"Ok, fine" I said back.

"Yay!" He cheered.

30 minutes went by and it only consisted of me working and michael constantly being annoying.

"Zoe" Michael called.

"Ya?" he waited a few seconds.

"Hi" he said once again smiling. I rolled my eyes at him.

"Ok Michael, get up. You're now going to help me work."

"Ok!" he replied getting up and walking over to me. I brought him into the back.

"So you are going to help me make some bouquets that people ordered." He nodded signaling for me to continue.

"First you are going to take some of the paper and lay it out, then you are going to put in the flowers that the people requested, then you are going to roll and tie it up with a ribbon. " I said while showing him. I ended up making yet another perfect bouquet.

Michael nodded at me and proceeded to the table so we could now make bouquets next to each other. A few moments later Michael nudged me so I turned and saw that he was done with one bouquet.

"Wow, Michael, that's actually really good." I said impressed. He smiled at me and reached for it picking it up. While handing it to me, it broke apart and the flowers fell all over the ground.

"Fuck" Michel said under his breath while picking them up off the ground.

"Michael how did you forget to tie them?" I asked while giggling at his failed attempt. He glared at me before walking over the the table and making a new bouquet.

Another 30 minutes had passed of making bouquets with Michael. He ended up making some that were actually nice so I was able to display them in the store. I heard his phone buzz and he quickly took it out of his pocket to read what it says. He typed a quick response before sliding it back into his pocket.

"Hey, Zoe, I'm really sorry but I actually have to go. My friend just texted me saying that we were supposed to meet up 10 minutes ago and I completely forgot."

"Oh ok" I said back to him.

"We are still on for tomorrow, though right?" I nodded at him.

"Great, I'll get you at 10 am. Bye" He smiled at me before giving me a quick hug and walking out the door.
