Chapter 6

“Hey guys.” I said, grinning toothily and waving.

They didn’t respond, but looked between me and Michael, their jaws almost hitting the floor.

“What the fuck man.” Luke said, touching Michael’s pierce, but Michael groaned and swatted his hand away.

“Hey, don’t swear.” Ashton chuckled, looking at Luke.

“Don’t touch it, it hurts.” Michael said, rolling his eyes.

Luke chuckled, backing away from him.

“When did you guys get them?” Calum asked, looking between me and Michael.

“Like half an hour ago. I got mine, and Spencer wanted to prove to me that she’s punk, so she got one too.” Michael answered him, smiling halfway through his sentence.

Ashton grinned. “Nice, they suit you guys.” He complimented, and my grin widened.

“Thanks Ash.” I said, chuckling softly.

“No problem. You do look punk rock by the way.” He added, and I felt my cheeks getting warmer.

I’m not used to getting complimented; everything is all new to me. I didn’t even have friends. And the fact that I sort of have them now is a great thing really, they’re amazing.

“Aw, you’re blushing.” Calum grinned, and I snapped out of my gaze.

“Huh?” I said, my cheeks heating even more.

“Ashton made you blush, obviously.” Luke shrugged, plopping down on the couch.

I looked at Ashton, and he smiled at me. I sort of smiled back, it was awkward.

Michael cut in. “Anyways, I came here just to tell you guys that I’m moving in with Luke.” He said abruptly, his tone edgy. I don’t know what’s gotten into him ever since we were walking in the street.

“Saw it coming.” Luke mumbled casually, as if it’s basically normal to storm into your friend’s house and be like hey I’m moving in with you.

Michael nodded. “I’m getting my stuff soon. Thought I’d hang around with you guys for a bit.” He stated. “And Badass Jones over here actually pierced her nose, and she’ll be dead by tomorrow. So I thought hey, why not make the best out of today before she dies.” He said over her laughter.

I smacked his shoulder, and he laughed even harder along with the boys.

“You’re mean. Stop making me remember my mum.” She said, laughing a little.

Michael grinned. “Aw, you know we love you.” He said, poking my cheek.

I blushed for the umpteenth time today. “Whatever.” I said shyly, moving his finger away.

“So Michael told us you play video games, right?” Luke asked, and I nodded.

“I do, more than anything really.” I chuckled, and he grinned.

“Wanna play Fifa? Winner gets to choose what he wins.” He said, and I chuckled and nodded.

The thing is I’m not so good at Fifa, but I wasn’t going to turn down the offer.

Ashton groaned. “I don’t know how to play video games.” He said, his voice lowering at the end of his sentence. What’s quite different about him is that he has a thicker Australian accent than the rest of them.

I chuckled, the edge of my lip curling up as I looked at him. “I can teach you how to play sometime.” I said, and he smiled widely at me.

“That would actually be great, no one ever offered me help.” Ashton chuckled
