*Beep! Beep! Beep!*
I sigh and turned my alarm off, about to go back to bed.
"Hey Miko, come on down for breakfast! You don't want to be late on your first day do you?"
My dad called through my door, I got out of bed sighing again. Knowing my dad, if I don't get up the first time he calls down, then he'll barge into my room uninvited and invade my privacy. That's the one thing I don't want, people invading my privacy.
"What's for breakfast, and what time does school start?"
I asked, because if it's something I don't like or if I'm running late, then I was planning on skipping breakfast.
"We're having waffles today, and don't worry about being late. I'll drop you off at school after you're done eating."
He replied, I attempted to smile but couldn't and gave up after sighing. Dad noticed and smiled, because I was at least trying to smile.
"Thanks Dad, you know how much I love waffles."
I said happily, shoving waffles into my mouth. As soon as I finished shoving my breakfast into my mouth, I got all of my stuff together and waited for dad to finish getting ready.
"Miko, I've told you plenty of times to stop shoving food in your mouth like that. You could choke."
He warned, I just humphed and crossed my arms as he messed up my hair. I quickly fixed it and ran out to the car.
"And I've told you twice as many time not to mess up my hair."
I replied tapping my foot impatiently, causing dad to hold back a laugh. I know he only does it to get a reaction from me, but I still tell him off. It's the way our family gets along, the way of the Perillo family.
Dad turned on the radio and started driving me to school. I was singing along to one of my favorite songs, quite badly if I say so myself, when dad parked the car and turned the radio off again.
"We're here Miko, now go make some friends and try to smile."
Dad said as I got out of the car, while holding my backpack out for me to grab, I nodded while keeping a straight face.
"Yes Dad, I'll be sure to make at least one friend. And if I do then you won't have to transfer me again."
I replied quietly, secretly doubting my ability to make friends and form some sort of smile on my face. I've actually stopped trying to make friends at school, they wouldn't have cared anyways. I walk my way carefully towards the office, while trying to smile but failed miserably. Since I wasn't really paying attention to where I was headed, I accidentally bumped into another student.
