The rest of my day I spent hanging out with Jack, ignoring the stares and rumors about me that were starting to spread.

I have sensitive ears so I could hear everything they said about me. Whenever Jack heard them though, he would look at them as if he were threatening them to keep talking. When people saw him looking at them that way, they would instantly stop talking. If I was capable of smiling, then I would have.

When the bell rang, signifying the end of the school day, Jack walked me to my dad's car.

"Bye Em, see you tomorrow."

Jack said, kissing my forehead, as he opened the door for me.

"See you tomorrow Jay,"

I said, struggling to smile, as I put my school bag in the car.

"Hey Miko, who's your boyfriend?"

Dad asked as I sat down, making Jake laugh.

"Dad!!!"

I whisper-yelled covering my face, which was turning red from embarrassment, making them both laugh.

"I'm not your daughter's boyfriend sir. We're just friends,"

Jake replied respectively and I felt my twitch, slightly the shape of a smile, as I thought of him defending me. I kept trying to smile but it turned into a smirk, again.

"Sorry with the way you were acting, I was sure you two were together. You're this Jack I heard about when I pick Miko up yesterday, right? Why don't you come over for dinner tonight, and we can drop you off at your house."

Dad said, as I stopped hiding my face, and I looked at Jack. Honestly, did they forget about me already? Should I interrupt them? No, I won't interfere with their conversation, I'll just watch.

"I would love too, but I should ask my parents for permission first."

Jack replied, and dad nodded as if he was thinking. That is, if he ever does think.

"Well alright, how about we take you home. Then you can ask, and we'll wait for you to come out with an answer. We'll set a time and then come back to pick you up when it's that time."

Dad said, as I moved over so Jack could sit next to me. The ride to Jack's home would've been quiet, besides Jack giving dad some directions, if dad didn't tease me every two minutes. Other than that, the ride was quite peaceful allowing me to space out.

"We're here,"

Jack said, pulling me down from space, as dad parked on the side of the road. He unbuckled, grabbed his school bag and went into his house. But not before giving me another kiss on my forehead, making me blush.

When Jack came back out, he opened my door and hugged me. I felt a smile starting to form on my face again, this time it was almost a full smile, but it went away before anyone could notice it.

"I'll see you for dinner at 6:00. Sorry Em, I know you're not used to being hugged."

Jack said to dad then to me, as he let me go again. I shook my head, as he started shutting the door, making him stop.

"It's okay, but only if it's you."

I said, hugging him again, as dad started to fan-girl at how we would make a cute couple. Causing both of us to blush and stop the hug, then Jack closed the door still blushing and ran inside his house.
