Character introductions - We have Breccia, a gnome monk with some skill in alchemy, hunting for her lover, a scrawny half-orc named Slaugh; Nijaat, a hired local mercenary with some powers she doesn't understand (fighter/warlock); Earl, a very drunk, very alcoholic warlock who's convinced himself he's a wizard; Flicket, a goliath rogue who cannot hide; David?, a dragonborn bard with a compulsive lying problem (the ? is part of his name - reflecting the inflection); and Valadon, a bounty hunter-turned-mercenary from the north who likes money a little too much. They have been hired on to guard a caravan (or, are just a part of said caravan), lead by a joint venture between a merchant named Varrek, his daughter Jira, and a Kadrashali merchant named Abdul Harel, heading to the desert city of Kadrashal.

Valadon and David? each tried - unsuccessfully - to get an advance on their pay for the caravan, and Nijaat was training with the guards, especially the rookie Amael. It eventually turned into a sparring match between Breccia and Nijaat, with David? and Earl acting as bookies; Nijaat won. Earl attempted to disguise himself and slip away with all the gold he'd had, but he got drunk and exposed himself a couple hours later, leading to him being tied up. Flicket had decided to run ahead and keep going after they camped for the night, by the way.

the caravan is attacked by the Diamond Fang, a slaving organization, along with several jackalweres 1-2 hours thereafter, forcing the party into a close battle. Nijaat and David? were both knocked unconscious at various points in the battle, and Valadon was put to sleep by the jackalweres' ability. Flicket, having gotten lost, happened to show back up at camp right at that moment, and eventually the remaining attackers escaped into the night.

Afterwards, they discovered that during the fight, Varrek was critically injured, Jira had been kidnapped, and Abdul was missing. Valadon ransacked Abdul's wagon, looking for his pay, but the gold wasn't anywhere to be found. Valadon and David? were able to convince Baldric, the guard captain, to give them and advance; David? even managed to convince the guard he'd originally been promised double.

The next day, the party sans Flicket went to track Jira and the slavers down. They discovered that Abdul was in charge of this branch, and proceeded to wreck everyone there. Nijaat, in particular, went into a rage and launched herself at Abdul, while Earl landed the final blow on him.

Nijaat - 3 kills total; Earl - 3; David? - 2; Breccia - 2. The date is currently 8 May in-universe.
