The first part of the session was mostly buying things, getting people settled in town, etc. Breccia was officially hired and got set up; she met Drishya, the cook, and heard rumors about Mayor Rajad being banished for slighting the el-Nader family, in addition to hearing about Naja's disappearance. Bob Donovan (a new character played by the same guy as David? and Raylin) introduced himself (think southern land baron meets cowboy - with spring-based crossbows that look like pistols), and Nijaat went and spoke with each individual party member about their suspicions of Mayor Rajad. Nijaat suggested hosting a tournament, freeing up the mayor's house, and everyone agreed; at Donovan's urging, they talk to Captain KaRynn, who readily agrees to host it in three days' time. Also, Morbash bought a tabby cat from an old man (who literally just grabbed a stray off the street after he asked) and named it Skippy. Oh, and Breccia had spoken with a servant (slave) named Seizha, who was... visibly nervous, and not in a good condition.

That evening, Seizha knocked on Breccia's door, and with mixed feelings of sorrow and excitement told her that Naja, who was (is?) her friend and is now a banshee, had visited. The night after that, Breccia met Naja, and the chatted about potentially freeing Seizha from the mayor's control.

Finally, the day of the tournament arrived, and those competing got ready. Morbash faced Baldric, from the caravan, and won handily; Nijaat fought an as yet unnamed guard and won; Breccia fought Amael, and intentionally missed a critical blow, allowing Amael to win and leaving her free to search the manor; and Valadon fought Tariq, captain of Mayor Rajad's guards, and won with ease. KaRynn also participated, advancing to the second round, along with three others. Earl (now an NPC) lost in the first round due to disqualification from using magic.

The date is May 15. Nijaat has defeated four enemies total; Breccia two; and Valadon and Morbash each have one, although looking at how I kept track later, since they were only bringing their targets to half health, it doesn't seem I actually counted the tournament opponents; I might have only been counting enemies killed. I will have to think about this...
