''The sound of maniac laughter fill my ears, as I run for my life. The sound of twigs snapping and leaves crunching echo throughout the forest, as the insane killer chasing me gets closer. I whip my head back, and immediately scream. He was right behind me, I'm gonna die. The killer had a psychotic grin plastered on his face, as he held up his knife to throw it at me. His eyes flash with malice and insanity, and his smile seems to grow even wider.
I turn my head back around, to only smash right into another figure. I fall on the ground, and start screaming. He looks down at me. Even though his mask hides his features, I can tell he's smiling by the way his mask lifts up. I pull my arms over my head, and pull my knees to my chest. I sob uncontrollably, as wait for my death.
The original guy that was chasing me has came to a stop right beside me. I shiver as he breathes on my neck, and I cry even louder. Tears stream down my face, as I look up to meet my killers gaze. I scream again, as I back up. My back hits the tree, and I stare at him as he walks up to me slowly. The other man I bumped into just stared at the scene.
I look at him, hoping he'll save me, but he just tilts his head to the side and continues to stare at me. I look back in front of me to see a knife being raised. I let out a bloodcurdling scream, as the knife swooshes down and-'' Sarah groans as she hears the bell ring. She places an orange bookmark in her spot, and closes the book. "It was right at the good part, too," She thinks while shaking her head.
Grabbing her velvet colored backpack off the back of the chair, she places her book under her arm and walks out of the library. As soon as she opens the glass doors, a sudden gush of wind rushes at her, making her tumble back a bit. But nonetheless, she quickly recovers and walks out onto the sidewalk.
She sighs and takes a deep breath, taking in the smell of fresh air and morning dew. Placing white ear buds in her ears, she plays a random song, and unconsciously starts to sing out loud. She starts off quiet, but as the song goes on, she gets louder and louder. People stare at her as she walks down the cement, but she pays no mind to them.
She closes her eyes, and sings with all her heart. Right as she hits the high note, she runs into something that makes her drop her book and fall to the ground. Her ear buds fall out, and she hears a groan in front of her.
She winces and immediately looks down to look for her book. She mentally cursed herself for not watching where she's going. Then all of a sudden, she sees her book being handed to her.
''Are you looking for this?'' A deep but gentle voice speaks to her. Sarah slowly looks up to see Drake, the most good looking guy on campus. Sarah immediately blushes, clearly embarrassed.
''Yeah, thanks,'' Sarah almost whispers. But he just chuckles.
''No problem, and watch where you're going next time.''
        ''Yeah sure, sorry.''
''It's okay. By the way, you're voice is really pretty. Have you tried out for chorus?'' Sarah tenses up, but shakes her head, before looking down. ''You should, I think you'll be a great singer. Well see you around, okay?'' Drake says. He puts a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear, before smiling and walking away.
Sarah just stands there, frozen. ''Did that actually happen?'' Sarah thought, ''No, I'm hallucinating.'' She nodded, as if she'd convinced herself that she actually WAS hallucinating. She continued nodding, as she walked down the halls to her class, receiving weird looks from different people in the hallway as they passed her.
''How can a guy like that talk to a girl like me? I don't believe it, it's impossible,'' Sarah mummers to herself as she walks into class.
''What's impossible, Ms. Jackson?'' Mrs. Andrews, her math teacher, asks with a raised eyebrow. Her glasses are pulled down to rest on her nose, while she looks up from her laptop that rests on her usually messy desk.
''Nothing,'' Sarah responds meekly. Once again, she looks down and walks to her desk, hearing her teacher only sigh in response.
''Today class, we are learning more about equations and inequalities,'' She says, while turning to the board. The whole class groans, while Sarah leans her head on her desk and goes to sleep.
                               \(•^•)/
''Ms. Jackson!'' The teacher yells. Sarah jumps up, and looks around the room. Smirks and snickers can be heard, as Sarah looks up, and meets the gaze of her teacher. ''What's the answer to number 3?''
Sarah closes her eyes for a moment, and randomly guesses. ''Uhh zero?'' Mrs. Andrews looks at her with shock and amusement.
''Correct, well played. Maybe if you didn't sleep so much, you could MAYBE succeed.'' Sarah nods and looks at her desk in embarrassment. Whispers replace the laughter, insulting her.
        ''She's such a goodie goodie.''
        ''Teacher's pet.''
''I really hate her, she's such a fucking bitch.''
''I heard that she slept with her teacher just so she could pass.''
''Haha she's such a fucking slut!''
''I wish she could just die."
        ''She should just kill herself.''
''She's just a waste of space, just go fucking die already.''
''I hope the Halloween Killer gets her.''
        ''Wait, he's real?!"'
        ''Hell yeah, I saw him.''
''You fucking liar, you'd be dead.''
''Well I'm not, you fucking idiot.''
        ''Haha, you're such a liar.''
''Would you all shut up? I'm trying to do the lesson!'' Mrs. Andrews yells, silencing the whole class. Sarah sighs in relief when she hears the bells outside.  ''Hurry and leave my class, except for you Ms. Jackson.'' The whole class either smirked, or made ooh~ sounds as they walked out. Sarah just sighed once more, and slung her bag over her shoulder as she walked over to the teacher.
''Ms. Jackson, you really need to step up your game. You're failing my class and-''
''But I have an A in this class.''
''Don't interrupt me, you incompetent child. It's disrespectful when you interrupt somebody, especially your teachers.''
''I'm sorry, it won't happen again. I promise I won't sleep anymore.'' Mrs. Andrews smiles at her, although her smile didn't reach her eyes. They were practically shooting daggers at her.
''Great, glad we have an agreement. Now why don't you go on to your class, darling.'' Sarah nods, and runs out the classroom. But not before hearing, ''I don't get paid enough for this.."
                         {}{}{}
Sarah cringed as she ate. ''I really hate tuna fish sandwiches,'' She thought, ''I need to start making my own lunch.'' Sarah looked to her side when she heard a plate slam on the table and someone sitting down.
''Hey princess,'' Her best friend, Ben, says. She gives him a weak smile.
''I told you not to call me that,'' He chuckles.
''I know, but I can't help it. You are a princess after all,'' He says while putting an arm around her shoulder, and pulls her to him. She laughs, and pulls away.
''Ugh.. he still hangs out with her? Pathetic,'' A girl scoffs from behind her. Sarah tenses up, as she's predicting what's about to happen.
''I know right? Like he would soo be more popular if he like just ditched her,'' Another one says. They both laugh together, and Sarah hears Ben growl.
''Don't you have anything else better to do?'' Ben snaps.
''Why do you hang out with her? She's such a slut,'' One girl responds.
''Yeah, she basically like fucks any guy she sees.'' Ben flares his nostrils, as he starts to get up. Sarah grabs his arm and pulls him down, not wanting a fight.
''She's not like that, she's a very nice person. She's not fake like all you other bitches. Consider yourselves very lucky that she's here, or else I would've smashed both of your fake asses into the ground,'' Ben retorts. The girls just gawk at him, clearly afraid.
''You psycho! I hope you die!'' One of the girls yell, making everyone turn to look at them.
''The feelings mutual, sweetheart,'' He spits. The girls yelp and run away.
''Let's just go..'' Sarah says nervously, while tugging on Ben's shirt sleeve. He looks down at her, and nods. They leave quickly, and walk out into the garden. ''You need to control your anger, Ben.'' He scoffs, and runs a hand through his shaggy blonde hair.
''And you shouldn't let those girls walk all over you,'' He retorts.
        ''You're such a blonde..''
''What? That doesn't even make sense. And you're a blonde too, Miss Sarah Jackson." She just laughs, and Ben smiles at her. ''Hey, I've been meaning to tell you something for a while now, and—" Ben gets cut off by the sound of the alarm. Ben looks at Sarah with worried eyes, and Sarah returns the look.
''Attention, this is a lockdown. This is NOT a drill. I repeat, this is NOT a drill,'' The intercom blasts throughout the school. Sarah sits there, frozen. She's snapped out of it when Ben grabs her arm and drags her out of the garden. They both run through the halls, trying desperately to find a hiding spot.
They come across a bathroom. Sarah holds her breath, suppressing a scream, when she hears gunshots and a girl scream. ''Come on!'' Ben whispers harshly, dragging them into a stall. They both stand on the toilet, and hug each other. Sarah tightens her grip on Ben, and dig her head into his chest.
Ben squeezes her waist, as they wait. Sarah closes her eyes tighter each time she hears a gunshot, before she hears the bathroom door slam open. Sarah holds her breath, and feels Ben do the same. She looks up at Ben, and he kisses her on the forehead. His lips were soft against her cold, pale skin. Normally, she would've been blushing like crazy, but instead a tear falls from her eye.
Ben pulls her closer, as they hear footsteps walk inside. Loud, slow footsteps. ''Is there anybody in here?~'' A chilling voice rings through the air.  More tears fall, as she covers her mouth to stifle a sob. Ben covers his hand with hers, helping her be quieter.
The footsteps grow louder, as the shooter gets closer. ''I hear breathing. I know somebody's in here,'' The voice coos. Then suddenly, they hear a stall door being forced open, and a scream. ''I found you,'' He laughs, before they stick the gun in the door, and starts shooting like crazy.
Crimson red splatters everywhere. On the walls, ceiling, floor, just everywhere. Sarah holds her breath, as she hears something hard fall on the ground. More laughter follows soon after, and footsteps leaving. Once Sarah confirms that they're safe, she breaks down. She can't stop the overflowing river of tears pouring from her eyes.
Ben shushes her, and strokes her hair. ''He killed him, he- he killed him Ben,'' Sarah cries.
''I know, I know. But we've gotta be strong, it'll all be over soon, okay?'' Ben tries to comfort her. Sarah sniffles and nods, while Ben wipes a tear that rolls down her face. ''It's scary, I know. But the police will be here soon, and we'll all be okay.''
''Not the guy that was in the stall next to us,'' Sarah retorts, and cries louder. Ben puts a hand over her mouth, stifling it.
''Hey, hey don't freak out on me. It's all going to be okay, Sarah,'' Ben continues to whisper sweet nothings into her ear. Sarah doesn't pay attention, and focuses on the blood scattered across the walls. ''I promise, I won't let anything happen to you.''
''Don't make promises that you can't keep, Ben.'' Ben's breath hitches. Ben opens his mouth to speak, but gets cut off, once again, by the sound of feet entering the room.
