"Oh, shut up," Sarah said while laughing. After he shut the door, her father sat beside her on the couch.
"So, you and Drake huh?" He said suggestively while wiggling his eyebrows and smiling. She felt her face heat up, and slapped his shoulder.
"It's nothing. He just asked me out today, and I was just like, why not?" She said plainly, trying to mask her embarrassment.
"But I thought you and Ben had a thing going on. You did make out." He said it so casually, it made Sarah choke on her own saliva.
"How do you know about that?"
"I have my connections.. Ben told me," he admitted. She covered her face with her hands and groaned.
"Are we seriously talking about this right now? I just had a traumatic experience, and almost lost all of my sanity, and now we're talking about boy problems?"
"Well, you were the one who brought a boy home, so I have the full right to ask."
"First, he brought me home. And he offered. I couldn't just say, no sorry I'd rather walk home by myself after I almost died."
"Well, you could say that if you wanted. Although, I would've had a more nicer approach." She groaned and dug her face into the pillow she had in her lap. She heard him laugh and pat her back.
"So, how is it with mom?" Sarah asked, trying to change the subject. She regretted her words once she saw him tense.
"We got divorced, obviously."
"I know, but in two days? Don't you have to go to court or something?"
"Let's just say that I slipped my lawyer a few extra dollars to excuse my absence." Her jaw dropped.
"Is that even legal?" He laughed.
"Nope." She mentally face-palmed. She sighed and walked upstairs, ending the conversation. She ignored her father when he called out to her saying he's sorry. She flopped on her back on her bed, making her bounce up slightly.
She closed her eyes and let out a breath through her nose. Images of her and Ben kissing here ran through her mind, making her blush and feel guilty. She turned to her side and stared at her fingers as they played with the fabric of her pillow case.
She didn't mean to make Ben feel sad. She hates when he looks at her with that look. Absolute pity and anger. He's looked at her like that, once. She remembers it as if it was yesterday.

"You fucking slut, kill yourself," The girl screams while kicking the blonde in the face. She wheezes. Blood pours from her mouth as the ginger kicks her again.
"Go fuck yourself, Claire," She spits and grabs Claire's stiletto heal, dragging her down to the ground. Her head slams into the ground, making her yell out in pain. A sickening smile spreads across Sarah's face as she stares down at the helpless girl. "How does it feel?"
"What?" Claire glares up at her. She pushed herself up, resting on her elbows.
"How does it feel? To be helpless? Scared? Looked down upon?" The ginger let's out a small, short laugh.
"You couldn't lay a finger on me, and you know it. My dad is great friends with the principal, and it would be a shame if I had to tell him about this," She smirks.
"Oh, save your breath. You're just another bitch waiting to be sent to the hospital," She growls. Before anything more can be said, Sarah pounces on the girl. Letting her rage consume her every thought, she springs into action.
Sarah straddles the girls waist, towering above her as she punches her over and over again. Each punch harder and holding more rage than the last. Claire's blood mixes with Sarah's as the girls fight. Claire shoots a hand up, grabbing Sarah's blonde, curly locks, bringing her down onto the ground.
"Bitch," Claire spits before switching positions. She's on top now, with the blonde below. Her hand still gripping Sarah's hair, she uses her other hand to claw at the girl's face. Sarah's face was painted with fury, and quickly spits in her face, making Claire's grip falter. She uses this to her advantage.
Sarah slips to the side, and grabs Claire's collar, pushing her against the window harshly. She lets out a breath, before sprinting to her again. Claire's perfect green eyes widen, as she crosses her arms against her chest for protection.
Sarah slams into her, making the glass crack, and making Claire scream in pain. Tears and sweat roll down her face, mixing with her blood. Without wasting any more seconds, Sarah grabs her collar again and sucker punched her in the throat. Claire doubles over, coughing uncontrollably, and is met with Sarah's knee.
Her head flings back, making Sarah slightly wince at the force. Claire crumples to the ground, facing the floor. Sarah takes a step away, leaning her head back and taking a deep breath. Her breaths are short and heavy, making her heart beat rapidly against her chest. Her knuckles throbbing, matching her side.
"No matter how much you beat me, Ben will still choose me over you. You're nothing more than a leech, unwanted and clingy." She hears Claire say. Sarah snaps her head towards the girl, and cringes, but smiles. She slowly stalks towards the girl, crouching down in front of her. She grabs Claire's red locks, forcing her to look at her.
Before she could say anything, she hears an all-too-familiar yell. "What the fuck?!" Heavy footsteps thunder down the hall, getting closer by each step. Nervousness and guilt began to course through her, guilt slowly fading as she watches Claire fake cry.
"Help me! She's trying to kill me!" She sobs. Sarah sends a look to Claire, so intense, that Claire genuinely looked terrified. A smile creeps on her face, feeling satisfied. Strong arms pull Sarah away, flinging her to the ground with ease. She lets out a small yelp as she harshly makes contact with the concrete floor.
"Sarah, what the fuck do you think you're doing?" Ben yells at her. His dark eyes dangerously swirling with rage. Her mouth hangs open slightly, and starts to back away as Ben gets closer. She darts her eyes to Claire and glares. The damn girl was smirking at her, enjoying every moment of this.
"You wouldn't believe me anyway, so what's the point in telling you?" She yells back, slowly gaining confidence as she sees his eyes soften.
"Of course I would believe you, but not whenever I see you beating my girlfriend up."
"Ha, sure. Blame the whole damn fucking thing on me, because she's your girlfriend. I thought we were friends, Ben. Hell, I even had a crush on you, but not anymore. Don't come back to me whenever you see the video tapes, and see who's really in the wrong." Claire tenses up, making Sarah smile.
"I won't, because I know Claire wouldn't hurt a fly. You're just a leech, annoying and pathetic." Again with that word, leech. Sarah swiftly turns around and stares at Ben. She hates that look he gives her. Anger and pity. She feels tears well up in her eyes, and she sees him frown slightly, before she turns away and runs.

Before she could even register what was happening, tears were streaming down her face. She felt a strong hand on her back, rubbing it in strong circles. Sarah quickly turned to her side and her eyes widened. Ben.
"I heard what happened today, and thought I would come and see if you were okay.." His voice slowly trailed off. His depression radiated off of him, suffocating her.
"I'm fine, just a little shaken up." He nodded. He pulled his hand away, and looked down sadly.
"So.. You and Drake, huh?" Sarah tensed.
"Yeah.. he, um, asked me out today-"
"And you accepted," He finished for her. She closed her eyes guiltily and looked down.
"I'm sorry, it's just-I didn't know what to do. I mean, it's not like we were dating or anything, so-"
"We kissed. We fucking made-out and we even said "I love you" to each other. Do you want me to get on my knees and beg you to date me?" His eyebrows furrowed together in anger. She felt her tears stinging in her eyes, threatening to spill at any moment.
"I'm sorry-I didn't know what to do! You expect me to reject the most popular guy in school?!" She yelled back, instantly regretting her own words. Ben got up from the bed and stumbled back a little bit. He scowled, sending chills down her spine. His beautiful, dark green eyes were now clouded with anger, turning them to an even darker green.
"You're pathetic. Don't talk to me ever again, not until you've learned to be thankful for me, you selfish bitch." And with that, he walked out. She really fucked up now. Right when she thought everything was going perfectly, shit like this had to happen. She knew she shouldn't follow him, but she couldn't help herself. She jumped out of her bed, slipping on her boots, and running out of her door.
Her dad gave her a questioning look, but ignored her when she ran out of the door. She cursed colorfully under her breath as she saw Ben nowhere. She decided to turn left, and broke out in a full sprint.
{}{}{}
Her lungs burned, screaming for air. She wheezed. Her arms had fell limp to her sides, feeling stiff and hard. While her legs felt the opposite. Her knees felt like they could buckle at any moment, legs feeling like jello. After three hours of running, she had failed to find Ben. Adding onto her bad day, she had gotten lost. Night was coming quickly, and all she had was a shirt and shorts with boots.
She had slowed to a walk, stumbling some as she walked. In all honesty, she'd forgotten why she was chasing after Ben in the first place. Sighing softly, Sarah sat on a bench under a streetlight. She closed her tired eyes and leaned her head back, giving in to fatigue.
"Sarah? Is that you?" A voice called out to her, making her snap her eyes open. She looked around warily, looking for a body to match the voice. She started to feel nervous when she didn't see anybody, but heard footsteps coming closer. Cold fingers wrapped around her eyes, blocking her vision.
"Guess who," A chilling voice whispered in her ear. Their breath hot against her skin, making her tense. She took in a sharp breath when she heard them laugh. A small, light-hearted laugh-one that she recognized.
"Drake?" She questioned worriedly. In an instant, she felt the body move away and she could see. She flinched when she saw Drake emerge from the darkness and sit down next to her. She would've laughed if she wasn't so scared, but he did it for her.
"Sorry, princess-I couldn't help myself," He said. Her cheeks flushed and her stomach fluttered. She's never reacted this way whenever Ben called her princess, what's different now? "You don't love him."
"Excuse me, what?"
"You don't love him. The reason why you're getting all worked up is because you love me, while you view Ben as a brother or friend." She was in shock. Had she really said that out loud? "Yes." He smirked.
"So, um, do you know where we are? I was running, yeah running, and I got lost." He smiled.
"In boots?"
"Yes." He sighed.
"Yeah, we're about two blocks down from my house. You can stay with me, if you want."
"Sure. That'd be great, actually." He smiled again.
"Good. Let's go," He stood up and crouched down. She looked at him, confused as to what he wanted her to do. "Get on my back, I'll carry you there." She nodded, and got on his back carefully. He gripped her legs as he stood up, and began walking. She gripped his neck, pulling herself closer to him.
Resting her head on his shoulder, she closed her eyes and took in his scent. She scrunched her nose up in disgust. He had a metallic scent, almost like blood. Could he be..? No. That's ridiculous. Sighing softly, she closed her eyes. Right before she fell asleep, she heard Drake say something that would have her shaking if she wasn't being carried.
"Two days left, Sarah. And then, then you'll be dead."
