''Today, at Ravenwood Highschool, a tragic shooting took place. The suspect, Jeremy Daniels, is now in custody, and away from the school. Multiple firearms were found on the scene, including a military knife. 15 year old Lukas Till, 17 year old Kinsley Buckett, 19 year old Jack Nichols, and 15 year old Emberly Hunter were found dead on the scene. With 14 year old Lillie Gray, 16 year old Emilee Gray, and 18 year old Toby Rodgers, all critically injured. They were imme—" Sarah shut off the television with a sigh. She laid the remote on the glass coffee table, and rested her head on the back of her leather couch.
''Are you okay?'' Ben asked her from across the room. Sarah just groaned in response, and closed her eyes. She heard the chair squeak, and footsteps walking towards her. ''What's wrong?'' Sarah growled in annoyance.
''Well gee, I don't know Ben. I witnessed somebody getting killed before me, almost getting killed too, and then finding weird numbers everywhere, and now you're asking what's wrong?!'' Sarah yelled. She felt bad, but she couldn't help it. Ben stared at her in shock. His mouth was slightly open, and his eyes wide.
''What do you mean, numbers?'' Sarah scoffed. She rolled her eyes at him, and sat up to look at him.
''You don't know?'' Ben raised an eyebrow at her, answering her question. ''Tch, fine. So, you know the boy who got shot right beside us in the stall?'' Ben nodded. "Well, the police found the number four written over his head, with my name. They found the same thing on the other victim's-'' Ben held his hand up, silencing her.
''How do you know this?''
''I literally just said that my name was on there, Ben. My name. And you seriously think that they won't call me, and question me about it?'' Sarah sighed in annoyance and impatience.
''Why are you so moody? Are you on your period?'' Ben asks suddenly. Sarah leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees, and rubbing her temples.
''I'm sorry, I've just been so stressed. And yes, I am. So go get me some food to keep me happy,'' She earned a groan from Ben in response. But nonetheless, he got up and made her a sandwich. She nibbled on the crust, as they sat on the black leather couch and watched Christmas movies.
~About 3 hours in~
''C'mon Sarah, we've watched Frozen for the third time already. Let's watch something else, please,'' Ben pleaded.
''Shut up, my favorite part's coming up,'' She said while putting her fingertips on his lips. Ben rolls his eyes, and puts her hand down. Sarah leans forward, pulling the red blanket with her. Ben sighs and runs a hand through his hair, staring at the girl in front of him. His cheeks flush as he looks her up and down. Her legs are crossed, and her arms rest on them as she's leaning forward. Her long, curly blonde hair spreads across her back.
Her milk chocolate eyes are glued to the television screen, happiness and excitement plastered on her face. Her rosy lips curl, and her white teeth seem to shine as she smiles. Sarah notices his stare, and looks at him. She smirks as she notices his pink tinted face.
''Like what you see?'' Ben turns his head away, and scoffs.
''Why would I be attracted to someone like you?'' For some reason, Sarah felt a little hurt by his words. But shook it off quickly, and shook her head.
''Who wouldn't be attracted to me?''
''You know, sometimes it's hard to believe that you're the shy girl, considering how you act outside of school." Sarah scoffs at his comment.
''It's only because I hate pretty much everyone there. What's the point in acting fake and getting even more fake friends, when you can just ignore them?'' Ben shakes his head and looks down.
''Still, you should try. Also, you shouldn't let those girls treat you like a pushover, when you're not.''
''Look, it's my senior year. I'll let them have their fun and when I graduate, I'm gonna leave. And I'm sure, when they've grown up a little, they'll regret their decisions. So, I forgive them,'' Sarah nods, signaling that the conversation is over. Ben looks back up, and stares at her.
''What will you do when you graduate?'' Sarah hesitates.
''I'm planning on leaving this hellhole, and move to California. I can just imagine the beautiful sunsets, and swimming in the beautiful beaches. I also heard that they have a lot of cute guys, and girls. Hey, maybe you can finally find a girlfriend,'' She laughs at her own comment, and nudges Ben's shoulder.
''But I've already found my girl,'' His voice is barely a whisper. Sarah gets closer to him.
''What? Speak up, dude." But Ben just shakes his head.
''Fine, have it your way,'' Sarah says while stretching. Her back arches, and she brings her arms above her head. She lets out a soft groan, and gets up. ''Want anything to eat?'' Ben shakes his head. ''Suit yourself,'' She says while opening her fridge.
''Hey, what's today?'' Ben calls. Sarah grabs a few grapes and makes her way back to the couch.
''The twenty-sixth, I believe,'' She says while tilting her head back to eat the grapes. ''Why? You got a date?'' She smirks.
''No, I was just wondering. Are you going to the dance?'' Ben asks. Sarah snaps her head towards him. She tilts her head to the side in confusion.
''What dance?'' Ben stares at her for a moment, before laughing.
''Did you seriously not know?'' Sarah shakes her head no. ''It's at the school, although it's more of a costume party,'' Ben smiles. He's always loved Halloween, from what he told Sarah.
''Well, I'm not going until somebody asks me,'' Sarah pouts. Ben tenses, and Sarah notices. ''What?'' But Ben just dismisses it by waving his hand.
''Say that somebody does ask you, what would you dress up as?'' Sarah laughs a little.
''Are you suggesting that we go together and dress the same?''
''So what if I am? You got a problem?'' Ben asks while raising an eyebrow.
''No, I actually wouldn't mind it. But to answer your question, I would probably just go in my pajamas,'' Sarah said while shrugging.
''Why your pajamas?'' Ben asks while chuckling.
''So that way when I get home, I don't have to change out of my costume, and just go to bed,'' She shrugs again. Ben reaches over and flicks her head. ''What the fuck was that for, Ben?'' She hisses while holding her forehead.
''Oh stop being dramatic, I didn't even hit you that hard,'' He rolls his eyes, teasing her. She slaps his arm, and starts to get up. ''What do you think you're doing?'' He laughs while grabbing her arm. She squeals, and tries to get out of his grip.
''Let me go,'' Ben laughs, and pulls her down so she's laying on the couch.
''Nope,'' He says, and crawls to her. He's on top, and she squirms.
''What are you doing Ben?'' She asks. She feels her face get hotter, as she stares up at Ben. His dark green eyes fill with lust as he leans his head down slowly. Sarah squirms around even more, as he gets closer and closer. He rests his head on hers, as he stares into her eyes.
His breath was hot against her skin, as he leaned his head down. He started to nibble on her ear, which sent shivers up and down her spine. He licked her ear, and let his tongue travel to her jawline. He kissed it slowly, and started to leave small kisses up her jaw. Sarah shivered. ''What is he doing?'' She thought, ''I want him to stop, but at the same time, I don't want him to.'' Sarah tensed up, as he bit down on her neck.
His grip on her arm tightened, and she whimpered slightly. But his grip didn't falter, as he started to nibble on her neck. She moaned softly as he bit down on one spot on her neck. Ben heard her, and started to bite harder, wanting to hear that sound again. She bit her lip, as she groaned in pleasure and pain.
He did this for a few minutes, before kissing her up her neck, to her chin. Their breath mixed together, as they stared at each other. Their lips so close, but yet they never moved. They just stared and stared at each other.
''Would you like to go to the dance with me, Miss Sarah Jackson?'' His lips brushed hers as he spoke. Sarah was blushing like crazy, while Ben's face had a very light pink tint to it.
''I would be honored to be your date, Mr Benjamin Thomas,'' Sarah whispers. They both smile, and Ben kisses her forehead, then her nose, and before his lips touches hers, the door slams open. Ben pushes himself off of her, and Sarah quickly sits up. They sit as far away from each other as possible.
''We're back, honey!'' Her mother calls. She walks in and lifts her sunglasses to rest on the top of her head. She was wearing a creme colored dress that was too tight, with white heels. She had at least five bags on her arms, as she walked in. Sarah's father walked in next, with much more bags in his hands. Sarah couldn't even see his face. Her mother looked around, before her brown eyes landed on Sarah.
She smiled, and rushed towards Sarah. Her heels clicked loudly against the hardwood flooring, as her mother hugged Sarah so tight, that she couldn't breathe.
''I was so worried about you, sweetie! As soon as I heard about the shooting, I came here as fast as I could,'' She exclaimed. Her mother opened her red lips to speak, before there was a huge crash behind them. ''Aaron, sweetie, please try not to break anything in there. I bought some really expensive perfumes." He just groaned in response. She suddenly spotted Ben, and gasped in surprise.
''Ben, I didn't know you were here! How are you doing sweetie?'' She said while hugging him.
''Hi Mrs. Jackson, I'm doing fine. How are you?'' He said sweetly.
''Oh my, you're too sweet. Just call me Leah. Mrs. Jackson makes me seem old,'' She fanned her face. Ben smiled at her, and nodded.
''Now, why don't you two kids go upstairs and chat while dinner gets ready,'' She practically shoved Sarah and Ben upstairs, and walked away. Sarah looked at Ben and blushed, before walking to her bed. She laid face down, and shut her eyes.
''What's wrong?'' Ben asked. He laid down beside her, and looked up at the light blue ceiling. Sarah shrugged, and blushed harder.
''Just thinking about earlier..'' She admitted. She heard Ben smirk, and felt a pair of arms snake around her waist.
''Want to pick up from where we left off?'' He whispered seductively in her ear. He pulled her closer, and she blushed harder.
''But what if my mom comes in?'' Sarah asked. To be quite frank, she wanted to kiss Ben, but wasn't ready. She was afraid of their friendship crumbling if they became a thing. And if they broke up.. She shook her head. She shouldn't think about these things.
''She won't,'' Ben said in a low voice. He kissed shoulder and neck again, as he pulled her back closer to his chest. Sarah closed her eyes, and sucked in a breath.
''Stop,'' She said, her voice surprisingly steady. Ben immediately stopped, and pulled his head back to her. She turned her head to look at him, and tears formed in her eyes.
''Are you okay?'' Ben asked her. Concern and sadness obviously in his voice. Sarah took a deep breath, preparing herself for his reaction.
''I don't want to kiss you,'' Ben tensed, and sadness consumed his eyes. ''I mean I want to, but I'm not ready,'' She tensed when she heard Ben sigh. She saw him nod and close his eyes, while running a hand through his hair.
''I understand,'' He said sadly. A pang of guilt ran through her chest.
''I'm sorry. It's just I'm not ready, and-'' Ben cut her off.
''I understand, it's okay. I'm fine,'' He gave her a weak smile. Sarah frowned, not believing him. Before she could say anything, Ben let go of her and stood up. ''I'm gonna go see if your mom needs help making dinner,'' He said. Sarah nodded, and he smiled at her again before shutting the door behind him.
A tear fell from Sarah's eye, as she felt a wave of sadness and guilt course through her. She sighed, and walked into the bathroom. She flicked the light on, and hissed from the sudden bright light. Sarah put her hands on the counter, and leaned forward. Her curly hair was a mess, and she had bags under her eyes. A strap to her black tank top fell off her shoulder, and her shirt was wrinkled. Her shorts were also wrinkled, and she sighed at her messy clothing. She took in a deep breath, as she walked downstairs for dinner.
