I sat still at the table, watching Jordan lean back and put her feet up.

"You know," she started, her eyes flickering towards me, "I'm not going to force you into anything. In time, you'll want to stay here on your own volition." I scoffed.

"There's nothing you can do that will make me want to be with you. You're a monster plain an' simple. You've hurt my friends, you've hurt me..." I faltered, shaking my head and looking back down at the table.

"Is this about handcuffing you in tthe car? I did apologize for that."

I chuckled, shaking my head in disbelief. "You're unbelievable."

She nodded. "Yes, you told me so on a few occasions."

A couple vampires entered the room, escorting a robotic Viola. She sat down, her heavily lidded eyes staring straight ahead.

"What did you do to her?" I asked. Jordan laughed.

"What'd I do?! Not a damn thing! Adella, on the other hand..."

A woman I didn't recognize, followed by two people with similarly stiff expressions walked in next. She was tall, well dressed, and had an air of superiority as if she couldn't be bothered to interact with people she deemed below her. She looked down at Jordan.

"What will you gain from terrorizing this silly creature?" She asked, tilting her head to the side and regarding me like I was a goldfish in a bowl. Jordan scowled.

"None of your goddamn business. Go stick your nose back in your Frankenstein lab and leave me to my business." Adella bristled, shooting Jordan a glare before calming down and brushing a hand over the wrinkles in her lab coat.

"You'll do well not to speak to me in that tone again," she said, turning on her heel and walking away. Jordan rolled her eyes. One of the vampires cleared his throat.

"Uh, ma'am our lookouts spotted a couple vampires and some werewolves headin' this way." Jordan groaned dramatically, letting her head slump forward onto the table. My heart hammered violently. Jordan scowled at me.

"I can hear your dumb heart from here. Don't get your hopes up, baby." She stood, stretching her limbs, showing no signs of concern. Her eyes were red when she stared me down.

"Don't you get any fucking bright ideas. Now be a good girl and stay put." I glared at her as she signalled the vampires to follow her.

"Stay put my ass," I grumbled, sneaking over to the windows the second she was out of earshot.

"What now?" Kory asked, as the group stopped in front of a large gate. Aries shot him a look of annoyance, reaching a hand out and flinging the gates apart with magic.

"C'mon this is basic shit, get it together corn flakes." He stammered until Isaac poked him in the back, pointing straight ahead.

"There's lot of vampires in there. We need to be careful or we could get people killed," he said simply. I shared a look with the wolves, who dipped their heads in understanding.

"I'll see if I can find my way to Naomi and Viola while you guys do whatever stupid thing you're about to do out here," Aries said. I frowned.

"Isn't it a bit--"

"If I hear you say the word dangerous I might actually kill you right now," she snapped. I shut my mouth. She shimmered and suddenly she was gone. Or invisible, I gathered after watching the door swing open and swing back shut.

I walked forward slowly, almost making it to the door when Jordan kicked it open, crossing her arms and smirking at me. The wolves were fanning out in the shadows, Kory and Isaac lurking towards the side.
