What makes you so special? You spill off the pages of my diary
Into my stories
My blogs.
Regardless of how much poetry I write
You stick in my head.
I started writing you a letter
And found myself at a loss for words
And never finished.
And late, late at night
When it's just me
And my thoughts
I think
Unwillingly
And shamefully
Maybe I am in love with you.
Oh
How I hate myself for thinking it.
Oh
How I hate you for making me.
Though you love another girl
Though you have no interest in me,
You lit a fire in the caves of my heart
Illuminated the bravery
Adventure
Courage
Unknowingly.
Your feelings will never match mine.
But you've turned me into something
I hate being
Because what you've turned me into
Requires your presence
And you aren't here anymore.
That's so unfair.
Still, I don't know what I write about you.
It is you that moves my fingers
Hoping maybe one day you'll get my message
And magically fall for me.
You won't.
I know that.
But, oh,
You can't stop me from hoping, wishing, dreaming, praying
Believe me, I've tried.
