Outsiders (DBH Connor x vampire!OC)

Chapter 13

"Did you even sleep?" whistles Gavin between his teeth.
"We did. It was only for a short while. We, and especially Faith, has been working a lot on the case." Connor says. 
"I can see that." 
A knock on the door. Faith turns and opens it. 
"We were wondering if we could bring you something to eat or drink from the shop? Markus and I are going for a walk." Simon asks. 

"Yeah, something to drink and maybe snacks would be nice. For lunch and dinner we'll order something if that is okay for you." 
"Sure. We'll bring something." 
"I'll pay you back."
"Don't worry about it. See it as something small we can give back for protecting us."
Faith smiles at the blond haired, too kind android. 
"Be safe Si. Contact us when something feels weird, okay. Next up is a blond male and I worry. You can never be too careful." 

"We'll be alert." He closes the door and Faith turns back to her colleagues and friends.

"You can sit wherever. I'll tell you what I found."

Hank seats himself on the bed, next to Connor. Gavin sits down on the desk and looks expectantly. 

"We know the pattern, when looking at the method I found out that aside from them being brutal, they are different based on gender. For females, it is almost as if he wants to rip them apart." 
She looks back at the board, the idea alone making her sick. 

"You have other clues, what do you mean with the no scent?" Reed stands up while asking and inspects the board more detailed. 

"Something I figured out. I can't explain, it's safer if you don't know." 
He looks up Faith with question in his eye. 
"Don't. I'll tell you when I have to." 
He rolls his eyes and luckily drops the subject. 

"Other things you figured out?" 
"Blond is next, male. I have no clue when they strike. I don't know if they are female or male. And it bothers me."

"Don't overthink, we'll catch them, kid."
"People are still getting killed."

"You are going to patrol the area, aren't you." 
"Betrayer. You should have kept that calculation for yourself." there is no malice in her voice.

"I am sorry detective, I was not aware that you were trying to keep it a secret." 

The rest of the evening is looking for clues and possible suspects. 

Simon and Markus have come in to bring drinks for everyone, they even brought Thirium for Connor. 
"Is everything going well with the investigation?" 
"It's frustrating really." Faith murmurs.

Simon and Markus stay for a bit, commenting on bits and pieces while making small talk to make sure the frustration doesn't rise too much. And surprisingly, Gavin tolerates it.

"Faith, when did you start working for the DPD?" Simon asks curiously.
"9 years ago."
"That is quiet a long while. Don't you want to promote?"
"Nah, I like being a dete..." Faith's eyes widen.

Frantically she starts to rummage through files until she finds the right one. The first victim. Killed approximately 9years ago. A few days after she started at the DPD.

"Faith, are you okay? Your stress level is rising enormously."
She can't think, can't answer. She has to get out, be outside. Air. Freedom.
