Brooke's POV:

"Brooke honey, time to wake up," my father voice said, waking me up. I opened my tired eyes to see a road full of trees. "We're almost here." he smiled.

Leaving my mother behind in New York was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, but deep down it was the right decision. Our relationship wasn't healthy, and neither was she.

My parents split up when I was in kindergarten. I don't really remember them ever being together because I was so young when it happened. The only things I do remember is them fighting. Shortly after, it was almost like our roles had switched. I was the parent taking care of my own mother. I eventually got used to seeing my mom passed out on the couch and I became very independent. It wasn't until around grade seven and eight that I realized that this type of living wasn't right. I had become accustomed to that life style so young that I believed it was normal. That's when I made contact with my dad, he promised that once I was going to grade eleven I could move out to Raven's Creek with him.

It's not that I didn't love my mother, because I did, but I was slowly being dragged down with her and I needed to get out. She didn't take the news lightly. When I told her I received a slap to the face and I didn't see her for about five days.

My dad pulled into his lot. My jaw nearly hit the ground, his house was huge. The color of the house was lighter grey, with dark grey shingles. I was absolutely amazed. I knew my dad had money, but not this much. I was surprised at how big the house really was, I didn't know why it was so big, it was just him. But from what I can remember, he always went over the top. We dragged my luggage into the house, it took a couple minutes. I took my entire wardrobe with me.

"Your room is up the stairs and last on the right," my dad said shaking me of my thoughts. I nodded and walked up the stairs. I took a glance into each room on my way up, but I was excited to see what my room looked like. I slowly opened the door and the sight took my breath away. The color of the walls were a beige color, on one side the walls looked wooden. The furniture was a dark brown along with the bed frame. My tiny feet padded across the floor and I followed the opening on the far right of my room. I was shocked to see a huge closet and my very own bathroom. "So do you like it?" I heard my dad ask.

"I absolutely love it, it's beautiful." I smiled.

"Good, I'm glad," he smiled back. "I had some help." he said.

"Thanks dad." I said.

"No need to thank me," he said. "Well I'll let you get settled in, we're going to go out for supper tonight is that alright?" he asked.

"That would be nice." I said.

I was looking forward to catching up with my dad.

After bringing up my things, I spent the next two hours putting my things away but I still didn't have half my things put away. There was a knock at my door and I looked up to see my dad smiling at me.

"Are you ready to go?" he asked.

"Yeah, just let me change." I said.

"Alright, I'll meet you downstairs." he smiled.

I gave him a nod and he left me in my room. I wondered how he came up with the layout and design of my room. I begged I wasn't going to walk into something really childish but then again, I don't really know my dad. I choose a pair of leggings with a baggy grey sweater and a burgundy scarf. I wasn't dressing to impress, but I hoped we weren't going anywhere fancy. I was relieved when I seen my dad in a pair of jeans and t-shirt.
