Never Give Up

Chapter 1

*May 20th*

Ansley was alone in the labor and delivery room waiting for her boyfriend of 2 years to show up for the birth of their daughter but he never showed up. She breastfeeding her the next morning and he came in hung over and said "I'm so sorry baby I didn't mean to miss it." 

"You are hung over and you have bite marks on your neck. You were out all night drinking and cheating. Get out." she said 

"That's my daughter Ansley." he said 

"No it's not. Her name is Chloe Faith Jacobs..last time I checked that's my last name." she said

"You didn't do that did you." he said 

"Yes I did. I also put your name on the birth certificate so when I get out of here I'll be making a trip down to the child support office." she said

"You bitch.." he said

"Get out before I have them call security on your ass." she said 

He left and never came back after that. She looked at little Chloe and said "It's ok baby mama is here and I promise I'll take care of you and put you first." 

When she was able to go home she got Chloe in her car seat and got her diaper bag and duffel bag with clothes for her. She packed it all down to her car and went back to her apartment she was trying to get it all out of her car. She had all of her bags and the car seat and got on the elevator. She got into her apartment and said "Home Sweet Home" and she put everything away and sat down with her daughter and fed her and got her changed and then they both laid down in her bed and fell asleep till it was time for the next feeding. 

Across town  was another single parent and that was Bucky Barnes he was playing with his 6 month old son Aiden James..they were doing tummy time he was going through a divorce from his wife of 6 years after they had falling out and tried everything they could to stay together for their son but ultimately decided that it was best for the two of them to split up. They were able to co parent great and be civil with each other at drop off and pick up. 

2 months after Chloe was born Ansley's ex boyfriend showed up drunk trying to get his daughter from her and she said "Nope nope I told you that you don't get to see her that you had no visitation rights. I gave her my last name for that reason you missed her birth cause you were to busy getting drunk and having sex while I was in labor with her. So go before I call the police." 

That night she was downstairs with Chloe folding clothes while she waited for another load to down. She had Chloe in a baby sling against her chest. Chloe had her mom's blonde hair as she had little wispy curls and big dark blue eyes like Ansley. She got all of her stuff folded and put into the basket and she sighed and said "Alright little Chloe Faith let's go upstairs mama has work in the morning." as she packed two baskets of clothes upstairs. 

Bucky was in his apartment folding what he had just washed up for the week and getting stuff ready for another long work week of being a police officer. He was watching his favorite football team play while he folded clothes and drank a beer. He missed having Dot around for conversation they separated right before Aiden was born.
