Never Give Up

Chapter 4

The next morning Ansley was breastfeeding Chloe in her room when Bucky came upstairs with Aiden and put him in her bed with her and he laid down beside her and said "So I called the Chief last night." 

"Oh ok." she said 

"He wants you to come down to the station this morning and file harassment charges on Jordan for last night's shenigans" he said as he looked over at her as Aiden crawled up to him and she bit her lip and said "But what if he finds me after I do that. I just wish he would leave me alone I don't have time for this bull crap Bucky. It's one thing after another I get pregnant because he refused to use a condom during my grace period and I love Chloe I do but this wasn't how I pictured my life with a kid at 21 having to change my major just so I could graduate and work. Then my parents move to Jersey and split up while they are there. I just want say enough is enough." 

He grabbed her hand and said "hey you aren't alone I know we just met a week ago but I'm trying here to take some of the stress off of you. I knew you were trying the best you could when you came into the station you were on the verge of tears the whole time cause you were so stressed out that you could barely speak with out stuttering." 

She looked down and said "Ok." 

"So finish up Chloe we have things to do." he said to Chloe.

"Hey you stop it." Ansley said and she said "Bucky can I ask a question.." 

"Sure" he said

"Um how much older than me are you." she said 

"I turned 30 in March..I"m only 9 years older than you almost to the day."  he said with a wink. 

She smiled and said "How long were you married to his mom." 

"Me and my ex wife were high school sweethearts..we waited till our senior year of college before we got married she was attending nursing school while I was at the police academy which put a strain on our first few years and then the last 3 years we just kinda fell apart then she got pregnant with Aiden and we tried marriage counseling and all that did was make realize that we weren't those two crazy teenagers that thought we could take on the world together no matter what life threw at us. So when she was 7 months pregnant we both went to a lawyer and filed for divorce. It was mutual we knew that we couldn't stay together just because we had a kid together so now we are just better as friends and co parents. But we were married 6 years." he said 

"Oh.." she said 

"Can I ask about you and her dad." he said 

She sighed and said "Well um I met him on a blind date in the beginning everything was great we met 2 years ago but then after the first 6 or 7 months things changed. I chalked it up at first as the honeymoon stage was over but we were constantly fighting and then the abuse started which is how I got pregnant with her. I would have sex with him just to make him stop hitting me. Being pregnant didn't mean anything to him the day I had her I drove myself to the hospital cause I couldn't find him and I left text messages and voicemails and he never showed up till the next morning when he showed up hung over and covered in bite marks. I knew then where he had been and he got pissed when I told him that she had my last name and that I would be getting child support and he called me a bitch and he left after I threatened to have the hospital call security on him." 

"What an ass. You both deserve someone better than that." he said 

She started to get herself ready and Chloe ready. Then Bucky put Aiden's car seat in her car and he drove her to the station with both kids in the back seat. They went in with both kids in tow and Fury said "MS Jacobs..I"m Chief Nick Fury. I understand that you have been having some issues with your ex boyfriend."
