Never Give Up

Chapter 2

The next morning Ansley took Chloe to her two month check up to get her shots done. She pulled her hair back into a curly blonde ponytail and pulled on a pair of ripped jeans and NYU nursing t shirt since that's where she did her nursing program and a pair of black converse shoes. After the doctor's appointment she went down to the police station and she packed in little Chloe in her car seat while she was sleeping and chewed on her lip while she waited for someone to help her. 

Bucky seen her and came over and said "Can I help you Miss." 

"Oh um hi I'm Ansley Jacobs I was wondering if I could um possibly get a restraining order against my ex boyfriend." she said on the verge of tears.

"Just breathe...here come with me." Bucky said as he grabbed the paper he had to fill out. 

She followed him into a conference room and sat Chloe up on the table and he said "Do you want it for both of you." 

"Yes please." she said 

"Ok...I need both names and birthdays and the reason why you want this and his name." he said 

"Ok um Ansley Jasmine Jacobs and Chloe Faith Jacobs. My birthday is March 20th 1997 and her birthday is May 20th 2018. And I would like to get it because he won't stop coming to my door drunk and yelling and screaming at me cause I won't let him see her. He doesn't pay his child support cause he can't keep a job cause he's to busy drinking and doing other girls which is why we broke up and um he doesn't have visitation rights and yet he keeps coming around his name is Jordan Cooper. I'm sorry I'm rambling." she said 

Bucky smiled and said "It's ok.." as he finished filling out the form then said "Ok I just need you to sign your name here." as he hands her a pen and points to where she needs to sign. 

"Now I'll do the rest and you take this copy that way if he shows up again before he's served you can show it to the officer that shows up so he knows. I'm officer Barnes so if you have any problems with him again just tell them on the phone that Officer Barnes helped you fill this out ok.' he said 

"Ok thank you Officer Barnes." she said 

"You are welcome Ms Jacobs." he said 

She picked up Chloe and he lead back out to the front door and she left. Bucky put in the order with the chief and came back out and Sam said "Who was the hottie blonde?'

"A girl who apparently is a single mom who was on the verge of tears cause she seemed so stressed out she could barely speak." he said 

Ansley was sitting at her apartment looking for another apartment that Jordan her ex boyfriend wouldn't find her. She found a brownstone that she thought would be perfect for her and Chloe but she was pretty sure it was going to be out of her budget. She circled and saw that there was going to be an open house that Saturday. 

She put it down in her planner so she wouldn't forget so she could start looking for something new. Across town Bucky was sitting at his desk at the station looking at that same Brownstone ad and wondered if a bigger place would be good for him and Aiden granted a 4 bedroom brownstone is a little big for the two of them. He put it in his phone to remind him to atleast go look at it.

Saturday morning Ansley got her and Chloe ready to go look at the brownstone and she pulled up and saw it and said "Good lord Chloe I don't know about this baby this might be more than mama can afford but we are cluttered with all of your stuff and I need a room for you." She got herself out of the car and then got Chloe out of the car. Bucky wasn't to far behind her with his son Aiden in tow. The landlady handed Ansley a flyer that had all the information on it and then Ansley went in. 

She started to walk through and then made her way up stairs and when she got to the top floor that had two more bedrooms Chloe started to cry cause she had a dirty diaper. She sat down her carseat and then changed her. Bucky came in with Aiden just as she was buttoning her onsie back. "Ok babygirl now that should make you feel better" she whispered as she put the dirty diaper in diaper bag till she got outside. 

"Ms Jacobs." Bucky said

She jumped and almost dropped Chloe when she heard her name and she turned and said 'Officer Barnes you scared me." 

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you." he said 

She bit her lip and said "I was just um trying to find a new place that Jordan wouldn't be able to find me and her." 

He smiled and then she said 'I just don't think this is going to be it cause there is no way I could afford this all by myself. But I'm sure your wife is going love it if you two get it." as she picked up the diaper bag and carried Chloe back down the stairs. Bucky stood there for a minute and realized that she must of thought because of Aiden he was married and it broke his heart that she was struggling so much to be a single mom. 

He went downstairs and found her putting Chloe in the car and said "Ms Jacobs. I'm not married my son is only with me on the weekends. But I do like this place maybe if you want to and it might give you a peace of mind maybe you and I could be room mates. The floors each have two bedrooms on them. We could see if the landlady could let us do that." 

She bit her lip and looked down and she sniffled and he said "Hey hey no don't get upset sweetheart." 

"I um I guess that's ok." she said 

He helped her get Chloe get back out and he walked in with her and found the land lady and he talked to her and the land lady agreed to let them split the place. They both filled out the paperwork and she gave both of them keys and said "Welcome home. I'll be by on 10th of every month to collect rent." 

"Ok thank you." Bucky said 

She left and Bucky said "Do you need help moving your stuff cause I have some guys that can help." 

She shook her head yes and said "My parents live in Jersey so I don't really have a whole lot of help." 

"It's going to be ok." he said as he picked up Chloe's car seat and helped her to her car.

They exchanged numbers and agreed to move the following weekend.
