~Emma's POV~

"Do you think I'm shallow?" Mikaela's question was the first thing I heard as I started to become conscious of my surroundings.

'What did I miss?' I furrowed my eyebrows before remembering and slowly opening my eyes. I propped myself on my elbow, making sure my head didn't show up on the rearview mirror and covered my mouth to stifle my yawn. My lip twitched as I felt the seatbelt loosening slightly.

"I think you're... No, no, no. I think there's a lot more than meets the eye with you." Sam told her and I raised an eyebrow.

"Okay."

"Yeah."

"Alright, I'll see you at school."

"All right."

I fully sat up and placed my headphones around my neck as Mikaela got out of the car and walked up to her house.

"'More than meets the eye with you'? Really, Sam?" I asked him with an amused look and he jumped slightly.

"Jeez Emma. Yes, I know that was stupid, but I couldn't think of anything else to say." He answered and I shook my head with a smile.

We arrived at my house by the time it was around 10:30. I carefully climbed out of the car, closed the door behind me and glanced at Sam.

"I'll see you tomorrow, Sam." I told him with a slight smile before giving him a small wave and jogging over to the house. Taking my keys out from my back pocket, I unlocked the door and walked inside. After locking the door again, I walked into the kitchen, dropped my keys on the counter and made myself something to eat.

After eating and taking a quick shower, I changed into a blue tank top and striped plush pajama shorts. Yawning slightly, I turned off the lights before crawling under my covers. I got comfortable and was out like a light as the exhaustion caught up with me.
