Settling in next to Spencer for the night I heard his breath slow as he fell asleep. Hours passed as I worked on paperwork in bed. He tossed and turned occasionally in a peaceful way until he suddenly began throwing himself about and yelling. Startled I jumped from the bed and stood back in shock for a second before rushing back to the bed to wake him up as he started to scratch his arms and cry in his sleep. Pinning his arms in my hands I spoke strongly, "Spencer wake up, its just a dream. Spencer baby please!" His eyes shot open suddenly and he sat up terrified and confused. Getting off his lap I sat next to him still holding his hands, "Spencer? What was that?" He shook his head and stared into the distance wide-eyed, "Did I hurt you?" I looked down at the scratch on my arm and shook my head no. "What was that nightmare about Spencer." He nodded and let out a shaky breath, "Everything, Tobias, you, our daughter, Remirez, everything bad that has ever happened to us." I nodded, "Spencer that's something we need to talk about. I think its time either one or both of us took a break from the team." He looked at me with an understanding look and whispered softly, " I was thinking the same thing. That night on the beach all I could think of was Hayley. She needs both of us." I nodded, "I applied for a job in the bureau that isn't a field position." He nodded and held my hands tighter.

Walking into the offices I kept my head down refusing to make eye contact. In a room full of profilers one was bound to figure out that I was leaving. Walking up to Aarons office I softly knocked before entering. "I need to talk to you about something important." He stood up and motioned to the chair as I closed the door behind myself. "I am leaving the team, Spencer may be following suit. After the most recent case, we decided that Hayley needs both of us. He has yet to make his choice so don't take my word for it. But speaking for myself this is my unofficial two weeks notice, I've accepted another position in the building where I will not be in the field." He looked at me startled and silent. After a minute he spoke, "It has been good to have you as part of the team. We will all miss you. As your boss I hope you do well in the new job and as your uncle and friend just know that you will always have a home here." I nodded, " I respect that. I need to think of what is best for my family. Hayley is going to be a big sister after all." A smile grew on his face, "Does Spencer know yet?" I shook my head, "He will soon enough."

Sitting at my desk I sighed and looked around at the bullpen remembering all the good and bad memories. Derek looked at me, "Are you ok?" I shook my head and decided to bite the bullet, "Can you have everyone meet me in the conference room?" He nodded and gathered the team as I walked away. They quickly filed in and took their respected seats while mine stood empty. "I would like to start off by thanking all of you. I would like to thank you for being my family for so many years and for being my life. You all got me through quite literally some of the worst days of my life. With that being said its time for me to start a new chapter in my life. I am leaving the team for good. You will all still see me in the building but I had to think what was best for my family. Soon enough Hayley will not be an only child and the thought of them losing their mother is just not something I am okay with." Pausing I looked at each of their faces, Spencer was processing the news of the new baby while Garcia had tears running down her face, I smiled a somber smile "This is not goodbye, it's merely a so long for now."
