If I were bold, I wonder now, would I
Be bold enough to let you navigate
And choose to where I point my good ship's bow?
Or bold enough to say "Stand back" because
I know for where I'll set my sail and all?
**
I know those times come oft upon us all
When easily we'd take advice from those
Slick villains who'd advise us ill, you see,
When rightly we would do well to ignore
The voice of those who threaten us and those
Who whisper softly in our ears to tell
Us that it's better to give in because,
"Just look how hard it is to keep this up!"
**
I know those times come oft upon us all
When fighting back seems like a loss too great
And givng in is easier because
There's no-one there to stop you doing that.
And ending strife seems like the end of grief
And conflict, so why not just let it be?
**
What else I know's that those ends that are chose
By someone other won't quite be the end.
For this would be allowing foe, not friend
To set your sail and ship you off to sea.
