Jungkook held his breath as the front door slammed shut. His legs cramping as he stayed squished in the wardrobe, his slim body barely fitting. Sweat drip down his forehead and his hands couldn't stop shaking.

"Jungkoooook I'm hoooooome" The familiar voice called.

Jungkook covered his mouth to not let a sob escape at his name being called. Tears were in his eyes, making them go bloodshot. He was terrified.

The first stair creaked.

Jungkook whimpered.

The fifth stair creaked.

Jungkook was now praying to every holy creature he could think of.

The last stair creaked

The tears left Jungkook's eyes. He kept his mouth covered to not let any audible sobs out.

At the first footsteps down the hallway got closer, his whole body tensed up, it started shaking uncontrollably. Through the tiny slit between the wardrobe doors, he saw his bedroom door open.

There stood his father, the manic. Just seeing him standing there menacing, threatening, was enough to bring a shock wave of fear. It was almost like Jungkook was hanging on to a cliff by one hand and his dad was about to stomp on it.

"Jungkoooook, where's daddy's boy hiding?" The sickly sweet voice called. Jungkook had been coaxed by that voice many times but not this time.

He moved one hand from his mouth to his chest, scared his dad could hear how loud and fast his heart was beating. His dad looked under the bed, unimpressed that he didn't find him there. He stood up straight. Jungkook begged silently that he would leave but he turned to the wardrobe.

Jungkook involuntarily let out a terrified squeak.

His dad smirked as he walked over to the hollow, wooden, piece of furniture that was protecting Jungkook from him. Jungkook closed his eyes, wanting this to be a dream. He could hear a deep chuckle and sounds of his dad unbuckling his belt. He dropped it to the side, knowing he would use it later. He opened the doors suddenly, making Jungkook scream in surprise before huddling even more into the wardrobe, trying to make himself as small as possible. His teary, terrified eyes looking up at his dad. Trembling, he quietly begged.

"Dad please," His hoarse voice whispered.

Jungkook could only watch in dread as his father unbuttoned his jeans. The reality of what was about to happen hit him like an egg to a brick wall. The tears began to run rapidly. His father chuckled.

"What did I tell you, son? Dad always wins."

Jungkook shot up in his bed, drenched in sweat, shaking like hell. He looked around the living room of Jin's house. He was at a sleepover along with Namjoon and Hoseok. Once realising that everyone was still asleep he burst into silent tears, the dream being far too real. Hoseok, being an extremely sensitive sleeper, woke up to Jungkook's gasps for air. He instantly knew Jungkook had just woken up from a nightmare. He sat up in his sleeping bag, looking at Jungkook's silhouette. His cheeks shone in the dull moonlight provided by the living room windows. Jungkook looked at Hoseok. Hoseok got up and walked over to Jungkook.

"I just had a bad dream, go back to sle-" Jungkook stopped whispering when Hoseok sat down next to him and hugged him.

"It was about him wasn't it?"

Jungkook fell into Hoseok's embrace.
"Uh-huh," He cried.

Hoseok lifted Jungkook into his lap so he could hug him better. Jungkook ended up full-on sobbing.

"I-I keep getting further every time. I don't want to go back to sleep. I don't want to see his face!" He yelled into Hoseok's shoulder.

Jin and Namjoon, who were also sleeping in the living room had woken up. Jin got up and went to the kitchen to put the kettle on while Namjoon went and sat down next to Hoseok. Holding Jungkook's right hand.

"This is fucking ridiculous, how the hell did that disgusting piece of human shit walk out the courtroom with a smile on his face. He's ruined Jungkook's life!! This is appalling." Hoseok also had tears in his eyes.

Namjoon sighed "I should have fought harder in court. This is probably my fault."

"No, you presented everything perfectly clear, you had great arguments, the judge just didn't give a shit." Jin came back with four hot steaming mugs of green tea.

"You think?" Namjoon asked getting up to help him.

Jin nodded. Hoseok took a mug of green tea and pulled away from Jungkook slightly. He held it up to his mouth. "Drink, it'll make you feel better."

Jungkook, who's hands were still shaking, didn't take the mug instead he let Hoseok carefully pour it into his mouth. After sip Hoseok put the mug down on the coffee table next to them. He then proceeded to wrap his arms around Jungkook again. Jungkook had calmed down a bit but he was still shaking and the tears were still coming out his eyes.

"Let's dig up Jungkooks father's coffin and burn him." Jin jokingly said.

"Jin!" Hoseok said, scared it would trigger Jungkook to react in a negative way but instead he laughed.

"That would be fun," Jungkook muttered.

"I know, I know" Taehyung took the wrath of his boyfriend's words.

Granted he was supposed to be home by 1 pm but after getting that letter he had decided to work later than usual.

"It's 11 pm, what do you mean I know? If you knew you would be home by now"

"Look, this case is turning out to be harder than I thought. There was no DNA at the crime scene. None, at all. It was like this person knew what they were doing."

On the other side of the line. Jimin could hear how stressed out Taehyung was. "Can you continue it tomorrow?"

"Crime doesn't rest" Taehyung was ready for another wave of worried words.

"I-" Jimin paused "okay, I'm coming down there with coffee and some snacks. Maybe I can help out some way."

Taehyung pulled a box smile, "Thank you so much for understanding! You're the best"

Jimin smiled as he grabbed his keys "I know. I'll be round in twenty."
