Chapter 7

"Is everything alright?" A soft voice cut through the tight silence between the five people.

Taehyung pulled his eyes away from Jungkook and his friend to meet the eyes of his lover. He pulled a box like smile.

"Babe," He walked over to Jimin, his day being brightened up just by the sight of his boyfriend.

They shared a hug and quick kiss before they walked back to the trio that was still sat on the floor. Jimin placed the bag of food in his right hand on Taehyung's desk before looking at the three of them in concern. He stood the chair back up that Jungkook had fallen from, grabbing two more chairs. He ushered them all to sit down. Taehyung gave him a nod of thankfulness.

"Mr Jeon, are you feeling better?" Taehyung asked him.

"Yes Officer Kim, I was just panicked. Sometimes I get weird visions of my father like that. You did nothing wrong." He tried to pull a smile of reassurance but it wavered.

"Wait, Mr Jeon, as in Jeon Jungkook?" Eunjin spoke quietly, like a mouse.

Hoseok tore his eyes away from Taehyung to look at her. Jungkook nodded slightly.

"I read about your court trial, I'm sorry you went through that. I had a court trial about the same topic but he managed to get out of it," She paused "I just can't believe he came back for me it's been five years, I was moving along with my life. I was getting better and now I'm back at square one." She choked on her sobs that clawed in her throat to get out.

Hoseok pulled the girl into a hug as if it was second nature. She didn't hesitate to hug him back. Jungkook watched them sadly, it must be tough for her. Jimin had walked off to Jackson's desk and was placing food on it. Jimin picked up the bunny note on his desk and frowned at the writing on it. Looking further ahead he noticed Jackson walking with Seol-bin to the entrance. Jungkook spoke up,

"What's happening with Seol-bin?" Jungkook questioned no one in particular.

"He's being released. He paid the fine and bail." Taehyung who had gone to typing on his computer, glanced up, answering Jungkook's question.

"What!?" Jungkook stood up, his legs quivering slightly, desperate to go and kick Seol-bin to death. "Y-you can't just let him walk! He's a monster!"

"It's not in my control, he followed the law and paid his fine. He gets to walk-"

"Oh, so you just let rapists wander around the city free charge huh!? You say you're trying your hardest to prevent abuse but that's hard to believe!" Anger crawled up Jungkook's stomach and into his chest, forcing his voice to raise, his tongue hit the roof of his mouth in annoyance.

Seol-bin who heard him turned to him and pulled a smile. The same smile Jungkook's father had pulled after walking out of court that day. Jungkook couldn't hold himself back. "You bastard!" He growled, taking off towards the entrance.

Seol-bin started to run as well.

"Jungkook no!" Hoseok called out, trying to get up to follow him but Eunjin's grip was too tight.

Taehyung was one step ahead and was only a couple metres behind Jungkook. Jungkook turned the corner only to bump into a hard chest. He looked up at the face of the person. The face pulled a dimpled smile and pulled him into a hug.

"Namjoon you have to let me go, that trash, he's getting away. He hurt her." Jungkook felt his anger melting into distress from the heat of Namjoon's hug.

"I'm here Jungkook, focus on me." Namjoon's voice melted whatever anger was lest resisting in Jungkook.

"It isn't fair." Jungkook whimpered.
