I sat down on the bed, my fully packed bag sitting in front of me. I had to be at Alya's house in 5 minutes and I was nervous as frick. And that's saying something. I'm rarely nervous, and almost never scared. At least, that's what everyone else thought. I don't let on many emotions. But today is a different story. I had a gut feeling something big was going to happen when I get to the Ice Dagger pack. I just don't know what that big thing is.
I tossed and turned on my bed for a few moments before my phone rang. The name read: "BE WARNED: WILL SET ON FIRE AT ANY MOMENT" I laughed slightly before picking it up. And the girl on the phone actually was about to set on fire, I could here it in her voice. "If you don't get over here in the next minute, Valeria Michelle, I swear to the Moon Goddess I will hunt you down!" Now usually, I could deal with her shouting at me, and then not really care. But that's when it's not really important. And now in is. "Chill, I'm on my way, I'll be there in like 30 seconds" I grabbed my bag and headed down, where I found all the orphans waiting for me. I gave a huge hug to each of them before sprinting out the door. I picked my suitcase up in my arms, before tapping into my dragon's strength and sprinting full on for about 5 miles before reaching Alya's house. Not even out of breath, I ran the doorbell of the (quite large) house, the door flying open to reveal a very pissed off looking Alya. "You've got to be kidding me." she hisses. "You're our leader, and you always have to cut it right at the second don't you?!" she exclaims, her hands flying into the air in exasperation as she follows me into the living room.
I completely ignored her, instead turning to the two other girls currently sitting in the living room. They rose, standing as rigid as boards in respect for their leader, unlike the flame brain still fuming behind me. I waved my hand once more, signaling them to relax. I join them on the elegant red couch, looking all around the lovely living room. All the furniture is a soft, dark red, with warm golden tones. The fireplace is a very old fashioned brick one, but it's real, not electric. On the mantle, you could see many baby pictures of Alya, which I couldn't help grinning at. The fluffy rug beneath my feet is an off-white color, with the walls the same color, but on one wall, there's a very artistically designed golden tree, with rose gold flowers blooming from every branch. I turn to the girls sitting to my left asking: "When do they come again?"
"You're the one who received the phone call, why don't you know?!" Alya bursts out from behind me. I sigh, turning my body slowly to face her, then standing up so I was right in her face. She glared at me, and I made my face turn cold, my eyes piercing, intimidating her. For a few moments, she wasn't fazed, but, after a little bit, her resolve cracked, and she bowed her head in submission and respect for me. I sighed, letting my "Leader" face fall and wrapped Alya in a hug, silently telling her that she was forgiven. I hated doing that to my Assassins, but they had to learn respect, especially for their leader.
I backed up when we heard the doorbell ring. We all glanced at one another, before I took a deep breath, calming myself, and went to answer the door. I opened it to reveal a middle aged man, well- built with dark brown hair and a well sculpted face. He was about a head taller than me, and was currently on the phone, evidently frustrated with whoever was on the other side, as he was hissing something rather rude to the person. I cleared my throat calmly, waiting for him to realize who was standing in front of him. He glanced up and spotted me. He immediately ended the call and stood tall in front of me. I stepped aside, gesturing him to come into the lavish house.
He stepped inside and I looked up to see the other three girls standing tall in front of him. I motioned him into the living room, gesturing him to take a seat on one of the armchairs. I seated myself on the one opposite of him, whilst the other three seated themselves on the couch. "Alpha Rocan." I began. He sat up straighter. "A pleasure to meet you. My name is Valeria, and I am the leader of the she-dragon group called the Silent Assassins." I stated, not giving away any emotion in my voice, only watching, analyzing him. "I will let my other three Silent Assassins introduce themselves."
He turned towards the other three, waiting for them to introduce themselves.
*ALPHA ROCAN'S P.O.V:
Valeria. Interesting. Her eyes never left my face, I could tell she was analyzing me. She had the aura of a very powerful she-wolf, but I had no idea of her heritage, as I had no idea who she was until now. I turned to the other three sitting on the couch. One was dark skinned, with puffy dark brown hair, and firm brown eyes. She was sitting relaxed on the couch, but her arms were folded and her eyes were piercing and analyzing, much like her leader's. "Alya" she said, giving me a curt nod. I raised my eyebrows at the blatant disrespect and short answer, but she simply stared at me, her face void of any emotion. I turned to the blonde hair and blue eyed girl sitting next to her. This one is sitting up straight on the couch, but she smiled warmly at me. "Hello!" She began cheerfully. Interesting, her appearance would make anyone think she would be to innocent for her own good, but her aura is as powerful as Alya's. I thought to my wolf, Nate. Yes, but not as powerful as Valeria's. He responded We should not underestimate any of them. He pointed out. Agreed. "My name is Hailee" she continued. She showed no signs of respect for an Alpha. They're not quite outright disrespecting me, but they're all showing me that I have no power over them! I realized. Interesting. For once, I'm not insulted from the respect not given. In fact, it simply seems they're all living up to their reputations. My wolf said.
I turned to the last girl. She was rather small, but, like my wolf said, I'm not going to underestimate any of them. She had icy black, rather long hair, and bright green eyes. She was relaxed on the couch as well, but her arms were not folded. She answered much like, what was her name again? Ah, right, Alya. She answered much like Alya did. "Victoria" she stated, and gave me a curt nod. I nodded to all of them, then I turned to the, now empty, armchair. I did not jump or start, I was a powerful Alpha, I did not get scared. I simply turned my head, spotting her standing behind the couch. She tipped her head to the side like a curious bird, watching me. "Shall we get on with it then?" she asked plainly, her face still void of emotion. "Of course" I responded, standing.
VALERIA'S P.O.V:
Alpha Rocan stood, and headed back to the front door. We all picked ourselves up from the couch before following him.
Right before he stepped out the door, Alpha Rocan whipped around.
And threw a knife right directed right at my head.
