It's 3 in the afternoon when Josh, Jessie and I pull up to Matt's house. Matt was a friend of mine. We first met at band camp. I was put in between him and his best friend Tyler. He was so shy and adorable. I instantly liked him.

"Hey Matt." Josh said when Matt answered the door.

"What dude. I was sleeping." Matt said looking groggy and tired.

"Sorry dude but Meaghan needs a boyfriend."

I slap Josh. "Did you have to ask like that!?" I whisper yelled into Josh's ear. He just glared at me.

"Need a boyfriend sweetheart?" Matt asked smiling. He always called me sweetheart.

"Yea.." I said. Everything felt very awkward.

Matt pushes Josh out of the way and grabs my hand. "Meaghan Millerick," he asked, "Will you be my girlfriend?"

I smile at the way he asked. He's so formal. "Yes." I say as he envelops me in a hug. I stay there at Matt's house with Josh and Jessie just hanging out. Eating junk food and watching scary movies. We stayed there until five.

Matt walked me out to the car then have me a hug and a kiss on the cheek then said, "See you tomorrow sweetheart." I smiled and got in the car. Matt's a junior so he's a little older but at least he goes to my school.

Josh drops me off at my house and him and Jessie head back to his house. I wonder what I'm going to do for this stupid English project, and if Justin will ever talk to me or if he'll just stare at me. All these questions will have to wait until tomorrow.

*Justin's POV*

"I need to talk to her dude." I say to Trey.

"Then talk to her."

I shoot Trey a glare. "You know I can't do that."

"Why?"

"You know why. I broke her heart, she'll never forgive me."

"Well maybe if you had talked to her and explained your situation she wouldn't hate you."

"Is it my fault?" I ask.

"What?"

"Her starting to cut.." Tears start to form in my eyes as I ask the question that has been on my mind for a long time.

"I don't know man. That's a question for her."

"That's what I was afraid you'd say." We sit there for a couple more minutes before my phone buzzes. Mom.

*Come home right now* it reads.

"I gotta go." I say to Trey grabbing my things and heading to the door.

"Stay safe Justin. Call me if you need me. For anything." He has a serious look on his face saying that last part.

"I will." I mumble walking out the door.

I have a past and a horrible present that no one but Trey knows about. I don't stay close enough to anyone else. No one can figure out. I hope to change that. Maybe I can tell Meaghan. Hopefully it won't scare her away. That's what I'm doing for my project. Is that a good idea? I hope so.
