Suddenly time stops
You're gone from this world
Tears live in my eyes
As an oyster shelters a pearl

Did you really leave me behind?
Or am I just gullible?

The snow reminds of you
And so does the pale aqua blue
Even the songs
Made me think of us two
I'm twisting and turning
Crying in my sleep
Insomnia? No
I just can't count my sheep
My blessing are none
My demons, a thousand
My household a warzone
And me, I am the threatened
Your smile is like the sun
Shining ever so bright
But even the sun goes down,
Though it's just for one night
When the moon disappears,
The tide falls too
Tell me, is that what happened
With me and you?
Did we lose sight for what was real?
Did we only belive in what was fake?
We began to see the world
And could only understand what was wrong
We were only us
14 years apart
You, accomplished and lost
Me, dreaming and discouraged
Our love was not intimate
But rather a friendship
You were like a brother
And I all but cherished it
I try to turn back the clock
But alas, I'm still here
14 years away from you
Dreaming and discouraged
I see you in my dreams
Sometimes you smile
Other times
You cry
A picture of us sits on the table
It's faced down
I cannot look at you
And stay strong
Your voice lives in recordings on my phone
Your memory in my heart
They aren't like the snow in the summer
Or the leaves in the fall
They are everlasting like a pine tree
