It hit the two month mark into our training today and I'm still having a hard time coping with mom being dead. It still had to of been some messed up dream....
"Eren?? You're staring at your soup again. It's getting cold." Armin said with an understanding look in his eyes and a reassuring smile on his lips that was full sadness. I forget he lost family on that day, too.
"Want to go for a walk?? It could help clear your head??" I nodded and got up, shoving the bread roll I had into my mouth. Somehow Armin always knew when I needed to not be surrounded by people.
"Can we visit Mikasa??" I asked. Her and Armin are all the family I have now
"Of course we can." Armin replied like it shouldn't of been a question at all
We made our way to the infirmary at a slow pace, enjoying each others company and the pleasant evening
"It hasn't felt this nice in a while." I commented. He nodded with a small smile and looked at the ground
"It reminds me of all of the times the three of us would sit by the river until the sunset and just talk." I smiled, remembering it to
We looked up to see the infirmary a few steps away. We weren't even in yet when we heard yelling
"I told you I'm fine!!! I don't need to be pampered like this!!!" I recognized it as Mikasa as I walked through the doors
"Ma'am, you need to stay!! You're still injured!!" The Nurse argued. We barged in and rushed over to her bed
"Mikasa..please stay. You can't keep stressing yourself out like this. It won't help you heal." Armin said softly
"Mikasa, you'll be out for the next two weeks. You can always catch up in your training and that won't take long with the amount of skill you have." I said while I fixed her hair back into place
She pulled a few muscles in her back and bruised her shoulder blade in training two days ago, all thanks to Jean acting like a nervous fool around her.
"I can still use my other arm!!" She said while she tried to grab a cup. It fell and broke
"See?? you need to be here. And besides...you're right handed." I said as The Nurse gently pushed her back down onto the bed and left. She looked at the two of us for a moment and sighed
"Fine, I'll stay. But you two better come and visit me everyday." I smiled and said
"We'll visit you every time we find the time to." She hugged the both of us with one arm and whispered into our ears
"Promise me you two won't get into any sort of trouble??" I chuckled and replied
"Can't make any promises." Armin nudged me
"We'll be fine, Mikasa. Just rest for now, ok??" Armin said and we pulled away to look into her eyes
"I-" The Nurse came back in with a broom and dustpan and cut her off
"Visiting hours are over for the day." She started shooing us away
"We'll be back tomorrow!!" I called over my shoulder as the door closed
"Nurse Namuchi sure is strict." Armin said with a laugh
"A little to strict, if you ask me."
"Jaeger, Armin!!!" I looked back to see Jean jogging up to us
"What do you want, horse face??" I said when he finally caught up to us
"Is Mikasa ok??" He blurted out with a blush
"Yea, no thanks to you." I said with a glare
"I said I was sorry!!!"
"Mikasa's fine, ok?? Thank you for caring about her well being-" Armin started
"Even though you put her there in the first place." I interrupted
"But we have to get going now. Bye!!" Armin grabbed my shoulders and shoved me away from Jean
"Why won't you ever let me beat his horse face in?? It would be such an improvement!!" I exclaimed
"You'll get in so much trouble for fighting!!"
"...and?? Since when has something as pointless as getting in trouble ever stopped me??" He sighed and I laughed. We were back in our room
"I'm sleepy, catch me!!" I exclaimed as Armin thrusted out his arms to catch me. We started laughing and climbed into our bunks. I dropped onto my pillow and sighed
I was out like a light within seconds.
