Family game night. Shawn was out on a trip, but he called in every day that he was away, and Star kept him updated. She was joining Lucas, Maya and Farkle in attending the Matthews' family game night, while Jaxon and Lennon were headed downtown for their 'brother bonding night'. Star had just gotten off the phone with Josh and anticipated that he would be there soon enough. They'd only grown closer after Holiday break and because of that, Shawn was growing weary of the older boy and his daughter, who he was yearning to refer to as his little girl, but the two had not yet gotten to such a place in their relationship, but Star often assured him that there was nothing more than friendship between the two.
Star knocked gently against the door and soon, Auggie tore the door open, beaming at his friend; to which she cried happily, "Auggie!"
"Starry!" Auggie squealed back and she suppressed a laugh at the name he had gifted her.
With a quick hoist, she lifted Auggie to her hip and Josh came across to greet her, the two embracing quickly before Farkle and Lucas came to greet her as well. Riley seemed a bit disappointed that Lennon hadn't tagged along, but what unnerved Star was the look that Maya was giving her. The blonde girl was glaring harshly, her eyes narrowed in scrutiny and jaw set in a sneer. Star looked away quickly and let Auggie down, then dipped to the bathroom, for she had had to walk Jaxon and Lennon to the bus stop and back.
When she returned, Riley and Mr. Matthews were stood on the couch, nose to nose and Maya stood behind them. The rest were huddled around the table and watching the scene, Josh stood in the hallway from with Star came. He had his arms crossed over his chest and was staring at the scene which unfolded before them, then glanced to Star, who glanced at him in confusion.
"Cory's freaking out because Riley invited Dr. Turtleneck and Mr. Howdy," Josh explained.
"Dr. Turtle...? Oh, Farkle and Lucas," Star nodded, then glanced at the scene before them, "We'd better go sit."
"Yeah," Josh nodded and the pair seated themselves on the floor, across from Lucas and Farkle.
"You on my team?" Star asked.
"He's on my team," Maya interjected, yanking Josh aside.
"It says here the goal is to get into one of the four success squares with your teammate," Farkle interrupted, Star's eyes flickering away from Maya.
"And then you win," Auggie added, "It makes this sound."
As the horn sounded off, Topanga burst, "I win!" Then, upon realizing her mistake, she shrugged, "Oh, it hasn't happened yet."
Recovering from the sharpness of the blonde girl, Star stammered and leaned forward, "What's the big circle in the middle for?"
"Oh, we don't go there," Riley shook her head, "If even one person goes in there, then you have to play the long game."
