Peter Pan and Cheshire never ceased to spend their days with each other. They'd do almost everything together; hunting, swimming, sparring, even practicing with their guitars and pipe. Finally, one day, Peter decided that it was time to introduce his ally to the Lost Boys. The shapeshifter did not agree.

"We'll both know that they'll kill me at first sight," she replied calmly, leaning her back against the trunk of the tree that held her treehouse.

"Yes, but I'll be with you," the boy king returned, raising a hand to clasp her shoulder in comfort. Cheshire gave him a nasty look, causing his arm to hang by his side again. "You do trust me to have your back, right?" The assassin regarded him thoughtfully, tilting her head slightly to the side. Then she shrugged one shoulder.

"Possibly," Pan rolled his eyes and began to walk off into the forest.

"If you decide to come, follow me," he called, without turning back to look at her. Cheshire watched him go, and continued to stare at the place where he'd disappeared even when he was long gone.

"I think you should go," Bandit stated.

"Are you mad?!" Onyx screeched, nearly giving the assassin a headache. "We'll be killed!"

"Just hear me out," the cat replied smoothly. "This will be a chance to test Pan's loyalty. Besides, we have magic. They don't."

"But what if Pan, who also has magic, turns against us? I don't trust him an inch."

"He won't," Cheshire spoke up, placing a hand on her tree in order to push herself up. "I can get past his mind defences without him having to drop them. He means us no harm for now."

"That is very reassuring," the black jaguar responded sarcastically, as the shapeshifter summoned her magic in the form of blue and black smoke. Appearing in the middle of the campsite, she immediately doubled over, panting hard to get her breath back. An awkward silence surrounded her and she looked up to find all the Lost Boys staring straight at her; all of them with baleful expressions. The girl slowly straightened up and folded her arms, giving the group the most hostile glare she could manage.

"Claws out, tiger," Bandit commented approvingly, and the assassin obliged.

"Wipe those scowls off your faces," she sneered, curling her top lip. "I've come to see your leader, not start a fight."

"For now, at least," Onyx mused.

"Cheshire, glad you could make it," a familiar voice drawled, and the assassin turned to see the boy king leaning against a tree.

"Pan, good to see you," she responded, keeping an eye on him as he strode over, stopping before he got too close to the shapeshifter. Then a blonde giant, with the hood of his cloak flipped up to hide his face, decided to interrupt their conversation.
