after taking a warm shower and changing into his tracks and vest manik came down and sawAryan sitting on the sofa having a bored face.....manik went and settled beside him and turned towards him to see him already looking at him......
" yeh aise kyu dekh raha hai.....oh no kahi ye phir se stranger wale mode pe aagaya kya....no no i can't let that happen....come on manik kuch kar....i have to get him to speak..." manik thought.....
manik spoke while scratching his nape in nervousness...." dekho Aryan....from now on till your mumma returns you have to stay with me....so kya hum please dost ban sakte hai...." manik literally pleaded at the end........
the little boy made a face as if he was seriously considering the request and then nodded in agreement.....
" thank you for accepting my friendship....from now on your manik uncle will take care of you until par-i mean your mumma returns...." manik spoke feeling happy....but listening this the little boy immediately frowned and shook his head......
not able to understand why he was shaking his head manik started to panic ( wow that rhymed😝..)
he quickly spoke..." kya hua baby ....is any thing wrong....did i do some thing...ab tak to aap theek the....." he rambled on not giving a chance for the boy to speak...( yeh lo bhai😁....pehle jab shaant tha to ise mute samjha....aur ab bolna chahta hai to moka hi nahi de rahe ho...)
not knowing how to stop him...the boy caught his hand which made manik stop his rambling...(hah finally...)
the boy said while scratching his nape in nervousness..." vo can i call you friend instead of manik uncle..." he asked innocently.....
manik was beyond happy....after all the kid spoke to him that too a full sentence.....he was mentally shedding happy tears for his accomplishment.....( offo manik stop being so dramatic..)
but one that made him surprise was the kid's habit of scratching his nape out of nervousness....it was just like him....thinking of it as coincidence he chucked his thoughts for the time being.....
" of course baby you can call me any thing....." he happily said making the kid smile brightly......seeing his smile manik silently promised himself to never let his smile fade away not even for a second......
" acha ab chalo.....it's already too late let's go to bed..i will show you your room.." he said and got up......
" wo i am scared of sleeping alone...can i sleep with you...please.." he asked adorably.....and manik at once fell in love with this kid.....he wanted to gobble his chubby cheeks.....
" of course.....tumhe please kehne ki zaroorat nahi hai baby....just ask me anything..." he said happily......" ab chale..." he asked but the kid shook his head and stretched his arms asking him to carry him.....
manik was more than happy to oblige to him and scooped the little bundle of joy in his arms and made way to his room......
after getting Aryan changed in his night suit both of them laid on the bed with Aryan sleeping completely on manik and manik holding him securely in his arms.....both were having a never ending smile on their faces as they slept contently in each other's embrace........

nandini was sitting and looking at a photo frame lovingly with tears in her eyes....
" mani....do you miss me....main tumhe bohot miss karti hoon.....i miss you very badly...i can't stay away from you...main bohot buri hoon na i left you alone....tum to jaante bhi nahi ho ki why i left you......lekin kya karoon mani main majboor thi....i am helpless main chah kar bhi tumhare saath nahi rah sakti....i am dangerous for you manik.......tum jitna mujhse door raho utna hi tumhare liye accha hai.....i w-was never the one for y-you...." nandini chocked with tears flowing through her eyes.....
some body knocked on the door.....nandini hurriedly wiped he tears and put a blank face and said in a stern tone.." come in.."
a butler came inside and informed..." mam big boss has returned....he is coming to study..." saying this he left....
nandini turned around and kissed manik's frame.....meanwhile some body entered the room....
nandini turned towards him and spoke.." welcome back papa..."...the man was none other than avinash murthy...nandini's dad.....
avinash smiled brightly and replied.." thank you my princess...."but soon his smile turned into a frown seeing manik's photo frame....he sighed and spoke.." were you again crying.."
listening this nandini avoided eye contact and started looking here and there.....
avinash spoke.." look princess. both you and i know why you are staying away from him.....you already lost your mother do you want to loose manik too.." listening this nandini nodded in no....
avinash spoke patting her head..." iss liye some times it's better to let go....especially if you know that in the process of staying with him you will lose him forever....i know my daughter is intelligent so she will do only right..." saying this he walked out leaving nandini in deep thoughts....
she held manik's photo frame close to her heart and slumped on the floor crying badly....suddenly she felt someone's touch on her shoulder....she lifted her head only to see dhruv sitting on his knees and wiping her tears shaking his head as if asking her not to cry.....
not able to control any more she hugged dhruv still sobbing........
