We made our way back towards the kitchen while holding hands. We took our seats at the table, which one of Castiel's numerous siblings must have already made.

"You are aware that your room is right next to mine and you're not exactly quiet when you're making out, right? It's a nuisance," Gabriel announced, far louder than was necessary. Cas and I both went beet red, I'm sure.

"Hey, they could be doing other, louder things," Anna suggested. She laughed and high fived Gabriel when Cas buried his head in his hands. I awkwardly cleared my throat.

"Cas, I really hate to ask, but am I allowed to smack your siblings?"

"Not while I'm in the room. After dinner, I'll be in the living room watching TV. Smack away then, but try to keep it quiet or do it outside if possible." Chuck said, carrying a tray with a cut-up chicken on it to the table and sitting down.

"Oh, they'll be busy doing other things after dinner, I'm sure," Gabriel said. Anna leaned close and whispered something to him, and they both snickered. I can't read lips that well, but it looked suspiciously like "each other."

"I might just have to make room in my schedule." I said, trying to sound intimidating. That backfired.

"So you're admitting that you had plans to sleep with my brother after dinner," Balthazar said, taking a seat as he made that fun little quip. I was about to argue when Chuck interrupted.

"Let's not talk about that. Where's Lucy?"

"Jeez, Dad, you can't even keep track of your own kids. He's out with Michael, remember? He told us he was going," Cas said indifferently.

"Oh. That's right. Anyone else missing? I have so many other honorary children that I can't keep track of who's joining us for dinner."

"We need a roll call," Gabe piped up.

"Right. We'll make that tomorrow. Dig in."

Cas grabbed one small piece of chicken and put it on his plate.

"Absolutely not," I whispered, taking the fork and putting two more sizable pieces down. I helped myself and started eating.

"It's really good. Thank you," I said.

"Well, glad to be serving the next honorary Novak."

"And how exactly does one become an honorary Novak?

"Date one of my kids, that's how." Cas spit out what he was drinking, I dropped my fork onto my plate, and everyone else at the table laughed so hard I thought they'd run out of oxygen. It wasn't even that funny. Were Cas and I just that funny to look at embarrased? I mean, it did feel like my face was about to melt off, so I must have been turning some shade of bright pink.

We finished dinner and I only accidentally spit out my food about three more times. Cas and I walked back to his room once we cleaned up, ignoring the rude gestures from Balthazar and Gabriel.
