No one really wants to be a model. But everyone is jealous of them.
Let me give you some advice, sweetie. Please don't be jealous.
You don't know what they do to us. Imagine having to look like perfection everyday. Being followed by cameras 24/7. Having no friends because 'fame changed you'. That was true, but not in the way that you're thinking.
So I suppose I should tell a frightening tale of how it feels for someone to own and control you. It's like O.C.D. taken to a new level.
But I, unlike others, kept my sanity. How?
Well it started with a complicated Target employee and some mis-interpretations.

"You're getting too skinny."
"Jordan, your hair's looking a bit dull, tell your stylist to remodel it."
"Jenny, they caught you going to McDonalds, I expect so much better from you. You look like a cow right now."
"Madison, there was a picture of you without any makeup on, honestly, do you know how much we had to pay to clear that up?!"
Golden nails, a puff of some sickly perfume, and uncomfortable nails stopped in front of me, looking up from her clipboard.
"And you're the new one, huh?"
"Yes Mrs. Walter."
"Oh look at her, polite and all. We'll have you polished up in no time, let's see. Hmph, we need to straighten out those nails, hmm, let's see, oh darling, you definitely need a boob job, oh dear, and a nose job, it is slightly crooked, and freckles are good, but not on the nose. Straighten out those legs slightly, cut down on the thighs, she needs to be tan, oh god, that would look lovely with that hair, speaking of which, that should be a bit brighter. Smile, sweetheart."
I obeyed, hating every second. Seriously? A boob job and a nose job and- I remembered how my mother nearly cried when she saw my little sister's hospital bills. This was worth it-no matter how excruciating the pain would be. It was worth ruining my life for.
