Luke's POV

I felt sweat tickle the back of my neck as I nervously walked towards her from across the room. I was half drunk and half nervous -clearly not a good combination. My palms were getting sweatier and sweatier as I got closer and closer to her table.

She was alone now, though I saw her enter the club a few hours ago with a few friends with her. Maybe they just grabbed a few drinks and she decided to just sit there and save their table for them. I really don't know.

I could feel my friends murmuring from the table behind my back as I continued to walk. They were probably just waiting for me to get rejected and embarrassed. Well, that's what dares are about, after all. When I finally reached her table, I weirdly stood there, frozen and she just awkwardly looked at me with a get-away-from-me expression on her face.

"Um- excuse me?" She said with her soft voice. "Is there something on my face?"

When I realized I had been staring at her, I instantly snapped myself back to reality and said, "S-Sorry, I didn't mean to stare," She gave me a quirky glare, clearly implying that she was weirded out by me. There was a silence. And as I rubbed the back of my head with my hand, I gathered all of the courage I had and said to her,

"Is it okay if I-if I take a shot at impressing you with a pick-up line?"

She stared at me, probably trying to figure out what I was up to. Then she looked towards the direction behind me -the direction where my friends' and I's tables were- and immediately drew her attention back to me again.

I was sure she was either going to leave and get as far from me as possible or tell me to leave her alone, but she didn't. Instead, she surprisingly said, "Okay, give it a shot,"

I took a deep breath. I mean...how could it be hard to hit on a girl you just met? I'm a blond guy with blue eyes after all. Here she is, a girl giving me permission to hit on her. Come on just do it. You've got nothing to lose but what's left of your dignity. I sighed.

"Anymore room in those jeans?"

Immediately after saying it I regretted choosing to do the dare. I should've just chickened out or (better yet) chosen the truth and cheesily lie about it. But to my surprise, she chuckled -showing off her right dimple together with her bright, white teeth.

"I'm sorry," I said, looking at the floor because I was clearly embarrassed. "I'm not good at these...these kinds of things."

"It's actually kind of cute," she said, letting out a small, angelic laugh that colored my cheeks to a faint color of red.

Ella's POV

"Anymore room in those jeans?" the cute stranger with blond hair said to me and I couldn't help but laugh slightly.

"I'm sorry," he said shyly. "I'm not good at these...these kinds of things."

I was resisting the urge to bite my lip when I saw him biting his own, showing off his lip ring a little bit more.

"It's actually kind of cute," I said to him, then I stood up, reached out my hand to welcome his and introduced myself.

"I'm Ella by the way,"

"Luke," he said whilst shaking my hand.

He put his hands in his pockets and started to rock back and forth as he said, "I'm sorry if that creeped you out. It was just a d-"

"Dare?" I asked, cutting him off.

"How'd you know?"

"I guess my gut just told me," I cheekily said, flashing my smile and dimple at him again.

"You have a very smart gut right there." He said, clearly becoming less and less embarrassed.

"Well in that case, I should better go back to my friends now," he told me with a half sad half relieved look.

"Okay. Next time, take the truth instead," I said, not knowing why I chose to give advice.

As he turned around and started walking back to his table, I turned around as well to sit again but a voice disturbed my movement.

"Hey," Luke called as he appeared to be walking back towards me after taking just a few steps.

"Yep?"

He took a deep breathe, started rubbing his hands together in a weird manner, and bravely asked, "If you didn't know it was a dare, what would've you said?"

I paused to think as he was intently looking at me, waiting for an answer like a puppy waiting for his or her food to be served.

I slightly grinned at him and said, "Maybe, luke. Maybe."
