Arjun was determined to make a strong comeback, dedicating himself to intense and rigorous practice sessions.Meanwhile, the captain of India's ODI team, Kushal Munagala, paid a visit to the academy.Chotu, one of Amir's students, informed him of Kushal's presence, and Amir immediately went to meet him."Morning, sir. Here is a recommendation letter from Anil, sir.""What happened, Kushal?"

Kushal explained his situation, "Sir, as you know, I've lost my form, struggling to score runs quickly, and my fitness has suffered. Anil, sir, advised me to seek your guidance."Amir acknowledged the challenge, "Gaining back your fitness won't be easy. You're aware of that.""Yes, sir. I have three months to make a comeback. I need to pass the yo-yo test and regain my form to secure my spot in the team."

"Three months should be sufficient time. But if you're here, who will captain the Indian team?"

Kushal informed Amir, "During these three months, India will be playing Test matches, not one-day internationals."Amir agreed, "That works out well, then. So, where is your luggage?"Kushal replied, "It's near the gate, but I can take a room for these three months."Amir offered an alternative, "We have rooms here, Kushal, and it's not a problem at all."Kushal agreed to the arrangement, and Amir instructed Chotu to assist with Kushal's luggage and prepare room 4 for his stay.Chotu nodded and said, "Yes, sir."

Chotu eagerly approached Arjun with some exciting news. "Do you know who has come to your academy?"Arjun, unaware of the visitor, responded with curiosity, "Hmm, no.""Kushal!"Arjun's eyes widened in surprise, "What!? Are you serious? OMG! The Indian team captain?"Chotu confirmed, "Yes, he'll be staying here for three months."Arjun was thrilled by the news, "That's super cool."Soon after, Amir called for Arjun."Yes, sir."

As Arjun entered the room, he was astonished to find Kushal sitting right next to Amir, and he couldn't hide his surprise.Amir reassured him, "He will be here for the next three months."Kushal gave Arjun a friendly smile, easing the tension.Amir introduced the two players, "Kushal, this is Arjun. He is an upcoming cricketer. Due to his poor form, the Ranji team sent him back. He needs to make a solid comeback and rejoin the Ranji team in six months."

Kushal, displaying genuine interest, inquired, "Oh, nice! In which category, sir?"

Amir provided more information, "Arjun is an aggressive, one-down batsman, an all-rounder who is capable and stable. He excels in playing standard cricketing shots and is particularly strong in the deep mid-wicket region."Kushal acknowledged the need for all-rounders in the Indian team, especially in the batting department. "Sir, the Indian team has been lacking all-rounders, especially batting all-rounders, ever since Yuvraj Singh. If Arjun can rectify his mistakes, he can make a significant impact."
Amir explained his intention, "That's the reason I introduced him to you. I want you to give him tips for both batting and bowling and encourage mutual dependence. You mentioned that you were weak in batting, so Arjun can bowl to you. If you find any mistakes in his bowling action, you can guide him. I can assure you that he is a fast learner."

Kushal was eager to help and responded, "Yes, sir."

Amir's plan had worked brilliantly. In just three months, Kushal had successfully regained his fitness and significantly improved his batting skills, while Arjun had honed his bowling technique to near perfection.As Kushal prepared to leave the academy, he felt compelled to express his gratitude to Amir. He approached him with appreciation in his eyes. "Sir, I need to thank you a lot."Amir, always forward-thinking, replied with a request of his own. "Don't feel obliged, Kushal. I need a favor from you."Kushal was ready to assist in any way he could. "Of course, sir. What can I do?"Amir shared his desire with sincerity. "I want you to recommend Arjun if the need ever arises."Kushal nodded in agreement and offered his assurance. "I'll do that, sir. Although I believe he won't need any recommendation; he has a bright future ahead. Alright, sir. I'll take my leave."With those words, Kushal left the academy, expressing his willingness to help Arjun in the future.

Amir's mentorship greatly benefitted Arjun as he acquired the skills and knowledge to bat at various positions in the lineup. With his quick learning, Arjun felt well-prepared for the upcoming Ranji selections. As anticipated, Arjun's hard work and dedication paid off, leading to his selection in the Ranji team. However, Rashid, who had previously tried to hinder Arjun's progress, intended to test him by placing him in different batting positions. To Rashid's surprise, Arjun excelled in every position and consistently scored heavily. Throughout the season, Arjun shone brilliantly, emerging as the highest run-scorer and leading his team to victory in the cup.

Even the coach, who had once doubted Arjun's potential, was compelled to acknowledge and applaud his exceptional performance. After their triumphant season, Arjun approached Rashid with gratitude and newfound confidence. "I told you I'd make a strong comeback, stronger than you could imagine. Thank you, Rashid, for helping me recognize my weaknesses."

In the selection committee board meeting, Srivastav addressed the committee members, emphasizing the importance of promoting young talent in the upcoming Zimbabwe tour.

Patel expressed his concern regarding the team's need for an all-rounder due to an injury to their current all-rounder, Rakesh. Ravi proposed the inclusion of Arjun as the ideal candidate for the all-rounder position, considering his strong performances with both bat and ball.

Srivastav and Patel concurred, and they decided to seek the opinion of the team captain.

Kushal was contacted via phone, and the committee inquired about his thoughts on the matter.

Kushal expressed his agreement, saying, "Let's try Arjun."

With the captain's consent, Arjun's name was on the path to becoming a part of the team for the Zimbabwe tour.
