The next day, we were being herded onto the bus for a field trip. The 'we' would be me, my friends, and other students. I was paired in a group with Jay and Sadie Gomez, but i didn't want to sit with them on the bus. i wanted to talk to my espeon that i got the day before.
'Espeon, do you want a nickname?' i said telepathically.
'A nickname would strengthen our friendship,' she responded.
'How do you like Amethyst?' I suggested.
'Amethyst is a psychic enhancer gem. It suits a psychic type like me.'
'Good then!' I thought and smiled.
"Dusty why are you staring at the pokeball? Is that a toy or something? Where'd you get it?" Jay asked over the bus seat in front of me.
"No it.... yea its a toy, and I got it for my birthday," I said rolling my eyes. I think he was dumb enough to buy it.
"Oh. why are you staring at it though?"
"Leave me alone."
"Why you stare at it!!"
"Its not a toy. Its a real pokeball with a real pokemon inside!!! OKAY!?"
"...I don't believe you."
"Look for yourself." I said and showed him the pokeball. Amethyst blinked and waved her tail around from inside. I think she was talking to him, but I couldn't pick up on what she said.
A few minutes later we all left the bus and Jay handed me Amethyst back. 'Amethyst what did you and Jay talk about?' I asked.
'I just told him that I was a psychic type pokemon who watched over lost souls. he mentally laughed and told me that you were definitely lost. I know you aren't, however.'
'Oh. remind me to punch him in the arm. uh oh the teacher's coming! back in the bag you go, sorry!!' I thought as i shoved her into my small denim purse. i keep my phone and wallet in my purse, but it can pretty much hold anything. one time, i tried to put a fridge into it, but i forgot that i had to plug it in. too bad, if i could keep a fridge in my purse, i would have free soda everywhere i went!
A few minutes later, Jay, Sadie and i were walking up the front steps of the small wooden shack we had come to visit for our field trip."OMG, this place is so small! how did our entire grade fit into it?!" Sadie contemplated. I couldn't blame her for wondering, but when we got inside the shack, our whole grade was in small clusters of people on the first floor. yes, there was more than one floor; if you looked up, you would see stairs going into he sky! The Harry Potter effect, i guess. My group headed up the first four flights of stairs, while others just wandered around the first and second floors.
"Wow, these halls are covered head to toe with paintings and murals!! Selfie!!" Sadie marveled and snapped a few pictures of the paintings.
'Now is your chance, Dusty.' a voice called in my head.
'Amythist? Chance to do....what?' I blushed a little as i thought of what she could mean.
'A chance to punch Jay in the arm, baka!' she replied, a little frustrated.
'OH!! Right, sorry.... Why again?'
'FOR CALLING YOU LOST?' she growled,' Maybe you are though. Just a little'
'Alright, I will punch him then.'
"Hey Jay!" I called him over.
"CALM DOWN, Dusty!!! What."
"This," I said and punched him right in the upper arm.
"Hey!! What was that for, Dust!" Jay asked as he recoiled back.
"For calling me LOST."
"Oh... Amethyst told you about that... but I was only kidding! You know I joke around sometimes, and that gave me the perfect chance!"
"Guys! Are you going to stand there arguing or are you going to actually test if these paintings are magical?" Sadie sassed.
"Who said they were magical?" Jay asked, just as oblivious as always.
"DUDE. Mrs.Wilson and Mrs.Banks told us that the paintings are supposedly magical!" I scolded as I started poking his head," Weren't you listening in class, baka?"
"I must have dozed off or something. I do that a lot when Mrs.Banks is talking." He replied and shrugged.
I started to actually look at some of the paintings, and one was so intricate that I actually touched it.... but my hand went through it. "WHAT THE CHIZ!?!" I recoiled back and Jay and Sadie made their way to me asking what was wrong. "LOOK!!" I exclaimed and shoved Jay's head into the painting. He yelled something and a speech bubble came up on the painting.
It said, "GET ME OUT OF HERE!!! DUSTY WHAT THE STUFF!!!" so I pulled him back out. "That was too random! I think we should get out of here!" He suggested and ran for... I don't know, the amusement of the readers?
"... he's the random one..." Sadie commented, with a -,-' face. I decided to take a painting to figure out how to make a magical drawing that I can step in and out of. I took a small painting with a wolf on it, stuffed it in my denim pouch, and walked away as a teacher called us to leave.
ON THE BUS RIDE HOME
'That was not a wise thing to do, Dusty. You should not have taken the painting,' a familiar wispy voice called in my mind.
'I just want to know how it works! Plus, its a picture of a wolf, what's the harm?'
'What if the wolf comes out and wreaks havoc on your household?'
'I don't think it can, or even would. Look!' I told her, and I stuck my hand into the wolf picture and pet the wolf. It nuzzled and licked my hand, and then I took my hand back out. 'See, Amethyst? This wolf is nice.' I heard her scoff and imagined her rolling her violet eyes. 'Snob...' I thought.
'I HEARD that!!' she thought back.
