"Come on then Naylor, we need to get back to our kiddies and take them off of Sacha's hands." Fletch spoke and pulled away from her. Jac grinned back up at him but didn't move from her spot in the middle of the room. "What? What are you grinning at Mrs?" He asked confused, an eyebrow raised with a smile.
"You said...you said 'our kids'." She replied softly.
"Yeah? They are aren't they? My four and your Emma." He said, still confused.
"I know but hearing them referred to as 'ours' sounds right." He laughed gently at how happy she looked. "I know it's silly but it makes me happy."
"It's not silly, it makes me happy as well. More than you know." He replied with a bright smile and kissed her forehead.
"I finally have a family..." Jac muttered under her breath as he turned away.
"Of course you do sweetheart. A family who adore you so much." Fletch turned back to face her and looked directly into her eyes as he spoke. "Now come on, we need to get moving."The couple showered and got dressed and began to pack their minimal amount of stuff that they had bought with them for the night when Fletch's phone rang.
"Hello?" He answered not bothering to look at the screen to see who it was.
"Hey Fletch." Essie's voice replied down the line.
"What's up?" He asked, pausing mid folding of a shirt with worry filling his features. It wasn't often that Essie called him, especially so early in the morning.
"I hope you don't mind but I helped Sacha out with the kids. We're all at your place." She paused to gauge his reaction.
"Rightttt..." He trailed off not sure how to respond to that.
"You gave me a key a while back. So we bought them home to get ready for school to give you more of a chance to get ready and get to work in time. I hope you don't mind." The nurse explained.
"Of course I don't mind! Thank you so much, that really helps. Thank you Essie, I'll see you later yeah?" He exclaimed in surprise.
"Yeah, we'll drop the older ones off at school as well so don't worry about them. Have a nice breakfast or something okay. Enjoy yourself, you need a break." She assured him.
"Wow thank you so much. I'll see you later, bye for now." He hung up and turned to look at Jac in shock."We're going to have to think up something very extravagant as a way to say thank you to them both for this weekend."
"Why? What have they done now?" Jac questioned, having not heard the other side of the conservation so Fletch reiterated what Essie and Sacha had planned for them.
"Well you know what I say? Let go get some grub Naylor." He grinned and took her hand. "We'll finish this later, we don't need to be at the hospital until 10 and it's only 7:30 at the moment, plenty of time." The male nurse led his surgeon out of the room and down to the restaurant and they tucked into a huge breakfast."Mmm that was delicious." Fletch spoke when he finished and patted his stomach appreciatively.
"You and your food Fletcher." Jac laughed and shook her head. "I'm starting to wonder if you do actually love it more than me."
"Pfttt there's no comparison there. Food wins all Jac, you should know that."
"That wasn't even funny the first time." She playfully scowled and tried to bite back a smile that was fighting to emerge onto her face.
"Maybe I'm not joking this time." He replied with a raised eyebrow.
"Don't lie to me Fletcher."
"Whatever Naylor, we need to get a move on otherwise we'll be late." He stood up and took her hand and led them back to the room.Fletch unlocked the door and held it open for his new girlfriend to go in first and then shut it behind them. She was just through into the main room when he grabbed her hand and swung her round.
"Christ Fletch! What are you..." She cried out in surprise but her words were cut off by his lips crashing onto hers. "Doing..." She finished in a breathless whisper when they finally pulled away for air. "So Mister 'we need to get a move on otherwise we'll be late' what was that about?" She teased when she finally got her breath back to normal.
"Wellllll I can make exceptions for beautiful surgeons can't I?" He retorted, still holding her in his arms as she gazed up at him.
"Frieda? Or Abigail?"
"Ouch Jac. Was that really necessary?" He asked and let his arms drop back to his side.
"Sorry if you can't take a joke Fletch." She snapped back.
"Sorry if you hurt me by leaving for months on end with no communication whatsoever. I'm sorry I needed to fill that massive gap in my life!" He retorted, throwing his hands up exasperatedly.
"Oh so now it's my fault is it huh? My fault that you slept with the CEO of the fucking hospital?"
"All I want is for you to stop pushing my buttons about her and reminding me every few days! But no. We can't just have a civil conversation about it. Of course you have to start an argument, I mean what did I expect, you're Jac Naylor. The woman who always looks for an argument anywhere and everywhere!" He cried and watched as she turned and ran back out of the door. As the heavy door slammed behind her, Fletch screamed out in frustration.
"Fuck!"
