2. Outnumbered

Hale House, Manhattan, New York

"Mommy!" Zachary ran down the stairs grinning at his mother, Emilia smiled as he hugged her tightly, lifting the three year old into her arms "How's my favourite boy?"

"I'm your favourite?" Zachary questioned in surprise, Emilia gasped playfully "Don't tell your brothers." 

"Why are you out here?" Emilia looked around the empty foyer, walking up the staircase as Zachary played with her hair "I'm hiding."

Emilia nodded, "Hmm, who from?"

"Benny, Tally and daddy." Zachary replied, holding out the pretend money sadly "They beat me at monopoly!"

"We can't have that." Emilia walked towards Bennett and Zachary's room, pausing at the new information "Hold on, you can play monopoly?"

Zachary nodded with a smile, Emilia stared down at him in confusion nodding her head slightly

"Derek Hale w-" Emilia began loudly, Zachary laughing as they entered the room dramatically, Emilia stopping at the sight of her husband "Do i want to know?"

Derek sat in a chair too small for his height at the mini table, almost two year old Taliana sat opposite whilst Bennett sat next to him. The three children happily wore fancy dress, Derek on the other hand did not.

"Isaac let them watch Harry Potter." Derek grumbled trying to pull of the wizard hat from his head, Bennett standing back up to place it back.

With Isaac at university, his visits weren't that frequent anymore, but when he did visit it somehow cause chaos in the house.

Emilia laughed putting Zachary down, "Leave your dad alone, Bennett."

Zachary ran back down to sit next to his sister, quickly taking his fake money to stop her from stealing it, unable to realise she'd already swapped their money around. Taliana and Zachary were only eleven months apart, if Taliana was born a day later she'd be in the lower school year, but unluckily they were put together like twins. Also unluckily, Taliana and Zachary argued more than Derek and Emilia could handle.

Bennett sighed, reluctantly taking the hat back "Fine."

Derek stood up from the play-mat, looking down to the three of his children sat down "Play nicely."

"They can play monopoly?" Emilia questioned as Derek reached her side, leaving the kids to play as Derek leaned forward to whisper "They think they can, but really they're just giving each other money and sending each other to jail."

"How was work?" Derek asked his wife, Emilia sighed wrapping her arms around him "The usual. It would be better if i was here with you."

"I bet." Derek smiled, kissing the top of her head as a phone rang, little footsteps running towards it "No!"

"Your turn." Emilia grinned up at Derek who sighed, walking back up the stairs to find his son chatting away on the phone "Zachary!"

"Love you!" Emilia called after him, walking into the kitchen to warm up her dinner, noticing her son running in to sit at the island  "Hey Ben."

"Mommy?" Bennett questioned, Emilia raised her brow turning to face him "Yes."

"Grandpa said he's going to be a grandpa again." Bennett told her happily, Zachary running into the room as he spoke "Are we getting another sibling?"

Bennett cheered at his mothers shocked expression, taking it as a yes.

Zachary blinked his brown eyes quickly, "We're getting a sibling!"
