Ray was in his office of Palmer Tech working on a new project. His assistant came in with his morning coffee.
"Someone's here to see you." She said.
"Send him over here please" he took the coffee and continued working.
"How did you know?"
"How would I not know. He is my fiancé of course. He comes around this time everyday"
"Oh... right- wait fiancé!?"
Nate knocked on the glass door for some strange reason. He smiled at seeing his husband to be working on something new.
"Could you leave us alone here? Please?" Ray spoke before taking a sip of coffee.
The assistant left quickly and it was her lunch break so that was convenient. Nate walked up to Ray slowly and pecked his lips.
"Hi"
Ray looked up and smiled. "Hi"
"I have something to show you. It's something that we have been needing in our new home. Together." Nate looked down at his feet and saw that the little puppy he had just seen was gone. "That is... if I find it at the front desk all the way downstairs."
"You didn't... get a dog, did you?"
Nate laughed nervously. "Pfft... no I didn't. It's more like a... puppy. Or something like that"
"Nate! What did I say about-" his sentence was cut short by the barking that was coming from down the hall. The puppy walked in like it owned the place and started to run to the historian himself. Nate bent down and picked up the little guy.

"Look at him! Isn't he cute! Please Ray!"
"No."
"Why not??"
"Because we aren't allowed to have pets there."
"Bullshit! There's a lady there with 50 cats"
"No"
"Why? Come on Ray"
"I don't want a puppy."
"Please! Please! Please!"
"No."
Nate put the puppy down on Ray's desk. The puppy began to explore the desk as Ray and Nate had a little argument about keeping him. The puppy looked around the desk and at the project Ray was working on. He began to poke his nose in it and smelled something. It hopped off the desk and pulled on Ray's pants.
"See what I mean?"
"But Ray please!"
It barked and began to pull on his pants again.
"We're going to take it back. Come on." Ray said while picking up the pup. Nate followed behind him.
The arguing continued till they were outside and were interrupted by an explosion. They looked up at the top floor in shock. They both looked at the puppy who gave Ray a lick on the cheek and barked happily.
