"Taehyung...I-I like you.."

There was a short pause while both of them looked at each other without a word. Taehyung looked a little taken aback by Jungkook's sudden confession, his eyes growing big. He closed and opened his mouth several times, not knowing what to say.

After a few seconds Jungkook looked away, a dark blush tugging his cheeks.

"I-I'm- I'm sorry I should- I shouldn't have said that so randomly... I just- didn't know w-what to do anymore be-because this has been on my mind for so long and it's been stressing me out, please don't hate me.."

"J-Jungkook.. why would I ever hate you? Don't say that. I just-" Taehyung sighed and ran his hands over his face.

"I just didn't expect you to say something like this, especially not this fast.."

"I know, I know. I should've waited a bit, but I just wanted to get this off my chest and I understand if you don't feel the same, I can't force you to like me back-"

"Jungkook, just shut up.."

Jungkook looked at him confused and stopped talking immediately.

"I'm sorry, didn't mean to be rude.." Taehyung sighed and turned his body so he was facing Jungkook.

"Kookie, I know we have known each other for many years now and have been close friends. I would never replace you with anyone else and I am so so very lucky to have you." He stopped for a second and scanned the younger's expression who smiled a little and blushed while looking down.

"We had our ups and downs, we fought sometimes but still remained close. It always hurt me to see you upset and I would always try and make you as happy as I possibly can. I know there are times where I can't help you and you will have to make your own decisions. But just know that I am always here with every step you take towards your future, I will be there as much as I can to support you."

Jungkook felt his eyes get teary again. Hearing such kind words coming from the person he has so much admiration for meant the world to him.

Taehyung cleared his throat and his shoulders fell a little as he played with his fingers.

"I have noticed that the past few months have been quite.. rocky for us, I don't know if that's something you noticed as well?"

Here it comes, Taehyung is going to reject me now. Oh god, get ready.

Jungkook nodded his head slowly, "Yes I've noticed it too. It feels like we've drifted apart from each other a little lately." He played with the hems of his sleeves nervously, waiting for the other to speak.

"Yes that's exactly what I was thinking. You know, as we didn't see each other for those past two weeks, I've been thinking a lot. I was confused about this for a while now, but I finally came to a conclusion that... I don't want to be friends with you anymore."

Jungkook looked at him with a shocked expression, blinking his eyes a few times. A lot of emotions ran past his mind at that moment; anger, sadness, confusion, and disappointment. He let his head fall back down, letting the tears escape his eyes finally.

He got startled when he felt a warm hand on his chin, lifting his head up to be met with the ones he loved so much. He noticed the older also had tears in his eyes.

Taehyung looked back at him and his heart ached to see him so devastated. He didn't want him to cry, but also couldn't help himself be emotional in this moment.

"Jungkook, please don't cry.." he grabbed his hands and held them close to his face, he then kissed his knuckles gently.

Jungkook just watched him with big eyes. He blushed a little, still confused as to what was happening. His tears didn't stop though.
