Skipping over the details of the shower that took way longer than planned since both males decided to goof around. Long story short, Jungkook ended up with shampoo in his eyes and Taehyung almost cried with him because of how bad he felt for him.

They dried off and put on some, not over the top, fancy clothes. Taehyung took care of preparing the decorations while Jungkook changed the furniture to suit the party and set out various foods on the table.

After some time, guests started piling up in the house and helped them with preparations. The day before, Taehyung called Lisa and Jimin to invite them over to his house. Both, not knowing what was waiting for them, agreed to it and promised to be there around 3pm.

"This party is gonna be hella lit!" Hoseok shouted out while throwing gang signs.

"Hobi, please kindly shut up." Jin responded with a disgusted look on his face.

Hoseok gave him a dirty look and continued with trying to stick the balloons to the wall, and of course failing miserably.

"Oh for christ's sake, just stick to the damn wall you fu-"

"Okay, food? Check. Decorations? Check. Party poppers? Check. Birthday ca-"

"Wacha doin' babe?" Taehyung walked up to a very concentrated Jungkook and wrapped his arms around his waist from behind.

"O-oh my god Tae, you scared me. Oh! While you're here, WHERE IS THE GODDAMN CAKE?!"

Taehyung rubbed his ear while cringing. "Damn your voice is loud.. wonder what it would sound like in be-"

Jungkook spun around on his heel real quick and gave a slap across Taehyung's face. His cheeks were red from embarrassment, but he looked like he could kill someone any moment, so Taehyung didn't continue further.

"You know what, never mind." Taehyung had to hold himself back from laughing. He put his hand on the red mark on his cheek, feeling a little guilty but his smirk was still visible.

"Where. Is. The. Cake."

"Okay you know what Jungkook, you need to chill out. I know you want this party to be perfect, I do too alright? They are our best friends and they deserve the world. But stressing out won't help."

Jungkook was about to open his mouth to shout at him again, but stopped. Instead, he took a deep breath in, and then out. "You're right.. I'm sorry, I just don't want to disappoint them."

"I know baby, I know. But you know what else I know? That you're doing an amazing job and that no matter what, everyone is going to have a great time. So you can relax for a bit and I'll take care of the cake, okay?" Taehyung reassured the younger while pulling him closer to his chest.

"Yeah, okay." Jungkook smiled up at him and placed his arms on his shoulders. The height difference was almost unnoticeable, but Jungkook still felt much smaller and safe in his boyfriends' arms.

"Ah, sorry for the slap. It was a reflex, I'm just not used to this stuff yet." Jungkook placed his cold hand gently on his lover's cheek when he saw the red mark.

"It's fine, I deserved it." Taehyung gave him a quick kiss and walked him towards a couch. "Now just sit and wait, they'll be here soon so just worry about how to greet them for now."

Jungkook nodded. Taehyung went to the kitchen and got the cake out of the fridge. He carefully placed it on the countertop and put in the candles.

"EVERYONE! THEY HAVE ARRIVED, GET ON YOUR PLACES!"

Everybody started panicking and trying to finish up their work. Taehyung waited a few more seconds so that he could light the candles.

All the people gathered up by the front door and the lights were turned off. Jungkook walked up to the door and opened it.

"Hey Jimin, hey Lisa! Come on in!" He chirped happily.

"Jungkook? What're you doing here?"

"Woah, why is it so dark in there?"

Suddenly, a small light emerged from the kitchen, growing bigger as it came closer. You could hear a faint voice sing.

"Happy birthday, to you.." Taehyung sang as he walked through the living room towards the door.

"Happy birthday, to you." Jungkook continued.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR, JIMIN AND LISA!" Now everyone joined in, making them jump a bit.

"Happy birthday, to you." Jungkook and Taehyung finished off together.

"Make a wish." Taehyung said with a small smile on his face.

Jimin and Lisa were both surprised but quickly blew away the candles. When they did, the lights were turned back on and everyone started clapping and shouting "SURPRISE!"

"Oh my god guys." Jimin looked completely shocked.

Lisa had tears in her eyes and was laughing at the same time. "Wow, this- this is amazing. You did all of this for us?"

"Of course, you deserve it." Jungkook gave them a big smile and they hugged.

"Without your help, we might've not ended up together." Taehyung had a loving look on his face as he eyed his boyfriend. Jungkook pecked his cheek and giggled.

"You guys are so cute oh my god!" Lisa squeaked.

"I'm glad that our plan worked," Jimin winked.
