"Hello" she was struggling to talk & in pain, but pushed through it with a smile.
"How you feeling?" I smiled.
"A bit better I guess." She said breathlessly
" it'll get better soon." I said, trying to give her hope.
" We can only hope." She smiled weakly.
" so tell me about yourself" a huge grin spread across my face allowing her to feel comfortable to open up.
" okay.. Well.. My mom & dad died in a fire when I was 8 so now I live with my aunt & uncle & their 18 year old son, Carter. I love my home life & I regard them as, my mom, dad & brother. I go to St. Peter's high school but I'm going to move due to this incident. & I'm 16." She grinned. After she told me her little story I could see she felt a lot more comfortable.
" I'm so sorry for your loss. That must've been so hard for you. In terms of this incident what happened?" My heart broke. This girls been through hell.
" that's a story for another day." She looked to the ground.
" OMG you should totally move to our school. You'll love it. As long as you sitting with us, no one will touch you. My clique runs the school." I winked, trying to get her to laugh at the fact that I'm acting like I'm cool. I know I don't know her well but she's been through a lot & she needs friends & I don't know any other group of people more welcoming than our group.
" I can't just join your group.. You've already done so much for me." She spoke with appreciation.
" don't be stupid, I'd love it if you joined. In fact they're all outside!" My eyes widened.
" really? Can I meet them?" She was so excited at the thought of friends.
" of course." I smiled & opened the door & directed everybody inside.
" This is Kiara." I looked to her for reassurance.
She nodded showing me that I got it right.
" & this is Matt, my boyfriend. Nash & Beccy. They dating. Shawn & Nadine. They dating. & Taylor & Kiks. God knows whats happening between them." I laughed. Wait..I just realized that I called Matt my boyfriend.. We aren't dating yet... O m g.. This is embarrassing.
Everybody circled around Kiara & listened to her story.
"Well, don't I have an amazing girlfriend." Matt grabbed my waists & pulled me in for a kiss. But since we were in a hospital, we saved that perfect kiss for another time.
" KIARA, KIARA, BABY!" A lady came sprinting in, streaming tears. A young boy followed behind her.
"Mom, I'm okay!" Kiara shouted.
We all exited the room to give them privacy.
We sat down on the chairs outside the room.
Everybody faded into their own little conversation & I just sat back & randomly started observing people. I know its weird, leave me.
Shawn, Nadine & Matt were deep in their conversation, they must've been having a very sentimental conversation. Matts leaning forward, his face in his hand & his elbows resting on his thighs. Shawn's hand was on Nadine's thigh & Nadines hand resting on Shawn's, & Nadine's head rested on Shawn's shoulder. It was 2am we were all tired. Beccy was lying on Nash's lap & Nash was playing with her hair & they both had cute smiles on their faces whilst they talked. Kiks was crying from laughter & Taylor was smiling from her laughter & it looked like he was observing her laughing ( with a smile) They were all so cute.
" hey guys, I'm Carter. Thank you for saving my sister. " he smiled with relief.
" thank god she saw her when she did, if it were any later she might not have made it." Matt gestured at me.
" yeah, thank you!" Carter rubbed my shoulder.
" no problem. If she's going to move schools bring her to lonehill. We'd love to have her. " I smiled.
" we might both move." He raised eyebrows & looked towards the room, showing that he's moving too, just to protect her.
" that's fine because they're all in grade 12 too." I welcomed.
They all introduced themselves & an hour of conversation went by. We all fell asleep on the chairs, I was the first one to wake up. I found myself on matts chest & my legs over his. Beccys head still on Nash's lap & Nash's head leaning on the wall. Shawn's head was on Nadine's lap & Nadine's hand on his head as if the last thing she did before she fell asleep was play with his hair. & Kiks' head on taylors lap.
"Guys!" I tried to wake everyone up.
Groans came from all directions.
"Come guys lets go to my place, you can all stay over."
KIKS P.O.V
We met Kiara & she was so sweet. We then all left the room when Kiaras mom & brother entered to give them privacy. Taylor & I talked the whole time & he would always make me laugh & he would say cute things & I don't know whether he's just a flirty guy or... He might like me. Kiaras brother came & introduced himself & we all had an hour conversation & eventually we all fell asleep & I fell asleep on Taylors lap.. Don't know how that happened but I know I fell asleep before him.
"Guys!" Jordyn whisper shouted... If that's even a thing.
" come guys lets go to my place, you can all stay over. "
I got up, woke Taylor up & everyone made their way to the parking lot & Jordyn stayed behind for 2 minutes just to give kiara her details.
"I'll go with Kiks" Taylor said, putting his jacket around my shoulders before we left the building. It was a cold night.
"We'll go with them. " Matt said, holding jordyns hand.
Nash, Beccy, Nadine & Shawn made their way to Nash's car.
" woah, nice ride. " Taylor smiled impressively whilst scanning the car.
" Beautiful & has a good taste cars. " he smiled & jumped into the car.
" thank you." A laughed.
We listened to the radio the whole way home. Jordyn fell asleep on Matt on the backseats & Taylor & I were discussing everything that came on, on the radio.
We got to jordyns house & we all just jumped on any price of furniture we could find. Jordyn & Matt went upstairs to jordyns moms room since her parents were out of town. Nadine & I ran to jordyns room & Nash & beccy went to the spare bedroom & Shane & Taylor cruised in the Lounge.
I woke up to a cup of tea on the bedside table next to me, on the cup it reads "Be mine?" & under it a note that says " - Tay" with a perfect heart drawn at the end. My heart skipped a beat. A huge smile spread across my face. For a second I thought I was just dreaming but then I realized that I wasn't, I just found my happy.
