.My demands have not been met! Do not toy with me! I will destroy this city piece by infected piece until you do as I say! The blood of the innocent are on your hands, not mine! Release my brothers at once or more will die! Continued obstinence will result in more consequences!
You do not frighten me in the least, Mr. Devareaux. I will not acquiesce to your ridiculous demands. Your empty threats do not impress me. One thing I can promise you, Mr. Devareaux...I will end you. Are you prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice for your demonic cause, or are you nothing more than a coward hiding behind his small army of emasculated minions?
Hetty cut communications short before Devareaux could spew anymore of his boorish diatribes and pontifications. She was bored with his grandstanding and wanted him to meet his end sooner rather than later.
"Mr. Deeks." Hetty whispered into Marty's earwig. "Sit-rep, please?"
"We're outside the compound now, Hetty." Deeks replied. "It's pretty heavily guarded both inside and out. If Devareaux gets twitchy, he may just dead-man switch the remaining devices leaving us a bit 'S-O-L'."
"Agreed, Mr. Deeks." Hetty confirmed. "Eric and Nell have managed to hack into Devareaux's servers undetected and are working on a solution to that most pressing issue."
"How far out are Sam, Callen and the EODs?" Kensi asked.
"We're coming up on your six, Kens." Sam replied softly. "Good to see you all."
"Not as happy as I am to see you two." Deeks replied in kind. "Barringer's running recon on the compound and is in comm's silence. He should be reporting in very soon."
"How 'bout now, Marty?" Barringer said.
"And?"
"Do you want the bad news, or the really, really bad news?" He snarked.
"Agent's choice." Callen interjected.
"This is gonna be a really, really ugly fight." Barringer replied.
"Oh, that's all." Callen quipped. "Nothing new for this bunch. Once Eric and Nell have finished the bypasses, we breech the compound and kick some ass."
A rumble of ascent from the Marines and National Guard EOD specialists echoed softly through their earwigs.
"How much longer, Wonder Twins?" Deeks asked itching to get on with things.
"One minute, give or take a second or two." Eric replied as his fingers flew over his keyboard.
"Once they're finished, Mr. Deeks, make entry to the compound."
Anxious to get the offensive started and over with, Deeks and his strike team; Callen and his group along with the EODs held their collective breath in anticipation of the go-ahead.
"Proceed, Mr. Deeks and Godspeed to you all." Hetty whispered into their earwigs.
"Alright." Deeks barked quietly. "Move."
Barringer took point as Kensi and Deeks swung out right and left on his flanks; Sam and Callen taking positions further out as National Guard EODs and Marine Special Ops specialists fanned out to the edges. Kensi, Deeks, and Clay neutralized the first group of terrorists standing guard without a sound before advancing deeper into the compound. Their hopes of a quiet entry went flying as soon as guards began opening fire on the federal and military personnel.
