As predicted, the day was not only long, but weird all the way around.  With Hetty gone in Washington D.C. the team was left without their Mama-Bear MoJo thus explaining why all the nitwits, knuckleheads, and idiots were running amuck and tempting fate.  Between Deeks and Barringer getting jumped by a group of thugs while following a couple leads on a big case they were handling, Kensi and Kerigan engaging in several foot races and random firefights leaving Sam and Callen engaging in a verbal repartee with a group of hispanic gangsters in a dead-end alleyway, the team was short on patience and getting crankier as the day wore on.

Running from one end of the city to the other investigating several leads tied to a large load of Cobalt-60 that had been lifted from a medical supply warehouse, Callen's team was on edge and their nerves were completely frazzled.  Tempers flared hotly several times between agents leading to many heated arguments and verbal exchanges uncharacteristic for his team.

Ordering them back to the Bullpen, Callen dragged his team to the gym to work off their anger; calling an early end to the frustrating day.  Wordlessly, the group slowly found something to take their irritation out on.  For Sam, he donned a pair of light gloves and started pounding the heavy bag mercilessly; Callen and Kensi engaged in an intense taser-knife fight; Deeks and Clay paired off and padded up for some full-contact sparring while Kerigan stood alone in a corner with eyes closed, her iPod cranked up listening to her Icon for Hire station  as she flowed through several dynamic Kung-Fu forms; heavy sweat beading forming on her face.  As the NCIS agent moved from form to form, it resembled a beautiful, but deadly dance of kicks, punches, and strikes that were designed to debilitate any attacker.

Deeks, Clay and the others stopped what they were doing and watched Kerigan carefully as they silently surrounded her.  Sensing their presence, Kerigan came to a graceful stop; her eyes remaining closed, stance relaxed.  Sam and Callen smiled at one another in silent agreement and attacked.  A wicked smile formed on the female agent's face as she accepted the onslaught with uncanny speed and brutal accuracy.  Knowing that Sam was strong and powerfully muscular, he was just a stitch slower that the lithe and quick-handed Callen who matched her speed easily.

Focusing on Sam, Jana was able to sweep the ex-Navy SEAL's feet out from under him; planting a solid front kick to his solar plexus as he went down.  Callen unleashed a series of strikes that were lightning-quick and connected with Jana's left hip and her abdomen nearly putting her to the ground.  Recovering faster than Callen was expecting, Jana grabbed G's right arm and used his momentum to throw him twenty feet behind Sam before facing off with the rest of the team as they rushed her en masse.  Clay, Deeks and Kensi were an even match for Kerigan in speed and accuracy, but Jana's lifelong training in Kung-Fu taught her how to face-off with multiple attackers at the same time.  Deeks leveled a powerful roundhouse kick at her head, but Jana blocked the strike by stepping into the kick; hooking his left leg and pushing him hard to the ground.  Moving through, Kerigan met Clay's attack before he was properly set and easily dropped him to the mat.

Kensi, on the other hand, had wisely dropped back and watched Kerigan's movements before initiating her own offensive.  With her taser-knife held expertly in her right hand, Kensi crouched low and waited patiently for an opening, a feral grin beginning to emerge.  Kensi was looking forward to sparring with her fellow female mutant ninja assassin.  The last time both female agents sparred, it was a draw.  Now, it was time to break that tie.

Circling one another carefully, the two agents searched for an opening that either of them could exploit.

"Fifty says Kensi drops Kerigan in one blow."  Deeks offered softly to Sam who was still massaging his ego.
