26. Rescue

Octavia's POV
Clarke and I headed into the woods. I want to save Lexa, but my goal was to hurt Echo. Even though Bellamy was already kind of mad at me, he would never forgive me if I killed her. 

If I said it was self defense then maybe I could kill her. I could be protecting Clarke. And I would be saving Lexa. Hmmmm.........That could work.

"LEXA!!" Clarke yelled.

I snapped back from my thoughts.

"Lexa where are you?" She called.

From a distance we heard her.

"Mommy. Mommy help!!!!!!" She cried.

"We're coming to get you. Don't worry." Clarke tried to get to Lexa faster.

"Lexa, honey. It's your auntie Octavia. Keep calling we can follow your voice."

Lexa kept yelling. Soon we were able to find her. We reached she clearing. Echo was nowhere to be seen. She had tied Lexa to a tree.  Clarke ran to untie her. I watched the woods.

Suddenly echo came out behind be. She started to attack.

"Ahhhhhh!!!!!!" She screamed.

Echo swing her sword at me. I blocked it with my own swords. I swung at her head but she ducked. While she was down she kicked me in the stomach. That hurt. A lot. I tripped her with my leg and tried to cut her.

Clarke's POV
I had untied Lexa and we started to run.

"Run Lexa!" I shouted. Octavia was fighting Echo. I didn't want to leave her, but I knew she could handle herself. I also had to get Lexa to safety.

Lexa ran ahead of me. I was faster than her so I easily caught up. The pace of a six year old could not out run a professional warrior. I scooped Lexa up and carried her. She had gotten really heavy.

Soon I could hear steps behind me. I think it was Octavia and Echo because there were two steps and they were going at different speeds. I didn't look to check.

Octavia's POV
Echo decided she wasn't going to go for me. I had just got hit onto the ground. Lexa and Clarke had left already. Echo chased after them. I groaned.

I stood up and went after Echo. We quickly caught up to them. Clarke was carrying Lexa. Echo was about the length of her sword while reaching her arm forward away. I was closed behind her.

I barely sliced her shoulder with my blade. There was a small cut. I could see that Clarke was having trouble carrying Lexa and had to put her down. Echo slowed and turned pushed me to the ground. Then she cut me in the leg. I was able to distract her for a couple of seconds.

She decided again that she wanted Clarke not me. Lexa has stared running ahead of her.

Clarke's POV
I put Lexa down and told her to run as fast as she could. We were getting away from Echo, when Lexa tripped.

She started crying.

"Lexa you're okay. We just have to get back tot the village and grandma can help you okay. We have to get you to daddy."

Echo approached us.

"LEXA GO!"

Echo tried to stab me, but I rolled out of the way. I just had to keep her long enough for Lexa to escape.

I got up but realized I didn't bring any weapons with me. Octavia was still recovering.

I ducked as Echo swung her sword at me. I kneed the stomach and punched her in the face. Echo tried to cut me but I grabbed her hand as she swung and took her sword. She reached back and got her other sword. I blocked her blow. She kicked my shin really hard and I fell got the ground. I froze and couldn't move. She was about to kill me when Octavia stabbed her arm.

I thinks she meant to stab in a different area but she was unbalanced from the cut in her leg. Echo screamed.

I took my chance and crawled away. Unfortunately I let go of the sword by accident. There wasn't time to pick it up. I ran to Lexa. She had gotten really far. I don't think she knew where she was going but she just kept running straight.

"Mommy I'm tired." She whined.

"I know princess. I know, but we have to keep going. We are almost there." I reassured her. I recognized the surrounding from when we came.

Octavia's POV
My leg hurt a lot. Echo was fighting Clarke. I started to get back up. It was really intense. Clarke fell to the ground. Echo had kicked her really hard.

I got up. It was really painful, but I couldn't let her kill Clarke. I tried to stab her I the back but I fell slideways a bit. I ended up cutting her arm. Echo screamed in agony.

Echo started to fight me. I saw Clarke slip away. I managed to knock her over. I fled, limping away. I couldn't run so I headed the other way. I hid behind a a large boulder. Echo ran after Clarke.

I recovered quickly and started to run to Clarke. I ignored the pain in my leg.

Clarke's POV
I could see the village in the distance. Bellamy and Madi spotted us. They ran towards us.

"Clarke!!!He hollered.

Bellamy was half way to us. Lexa slowed.

"Lexy you have to keep running." I turned around and Echo was behind me.

"WATCH OUT!" I heard someone call.
I saw Lexa reach her dad. Madi hugged her and I turned around.

Echo drew her sword. I somehow was able to block it. She charged at me again. She swung everywhere. I dodged her blows by moving backwards. I heard a scream. Echo looked back. She moved out of the way.  I got stabbed. The sword went right to the left of my stomach. Everything was a blur. There was blood everywhere. I fell to the ground. The last thing I remembered was a lot of screams. Then it everything went dark.

Octavia's POV
What did I do.
