Seventeen hours

"It was never meant to be any other way."

/////////

From the second we were together I knew that I needed to hold onto that boy ; to love and cherish him all that I could so he would feel loved.

He was one of a kind - a drop of gold in the ocean, a spot of blue sky in a thunder storm, a angel among mortals.

We went on holiday to Spain and thats where I proposed, down on one knee in front of the sunset with tears streaming down my face and holding a silver band representing my love for him.

It was plain all the way around except for a small compass design etched into the metal.

We held hands and looked out onto the setting sun, oranges and yellows swirled across the sky, resembling a painting. Lou's head rested on my shoulder as we both looked out onto the sparkling ocean. I took out my phone a snapped a picture, the scenery perfect for what I was about to ask.

"Lou, baby" I said, turning around to face him "I dont want to be with anyone else - ever. I love you so fùcking much and you're the best thing that has ever happened to me. Occasionally we might fight, we might get jealous and we might get angry but I know that we can go through that together, united as we should be."

"I guess what im trying to say.." I got down on one knee and Louis' face lit up, realising why I had made a speech.

"Louis, will you marry me?"

He started full on weeping, nodding furiously then bent down to kiss me, hard.

I stood up and slipped the ring on his finger and pointed to it fondly.

"There is a special magnet in the compass designed to only attract the one its paired with - this one - so whenever we are close, the point will turn to one another." I explained and Lou grinned.

"You know, I love you so damn much." He murmured and kissed me, wrapping his arms around my neck as I held his waist. It was never meant to be any other way.

And here it was. The day that all our relationship had inevitably leading up to, the we become bonded in marriage.

I knew I was gonna marry that boy early on but now it was here, now it was now.

And I couldnt be happier.
