It's been a few weeks since I've moved here, and all I can say is it definitely wasn't what I was expecting.
I mean,
All of the citizens here are very nice. So nice it's painful, actually. What's caught my attention more was the amount of monsters that can enter and exit this place like crazy. How the fuck have I never seen a monster in my life, but now I'm in this new city and I've seen four (I think) in the past two weeks?
What catches my attention more was the people fighting these creatures. I think I actually saw three flying four year old girls fighting, and I mean destroying the fiends they're up against. I always did say I wanted to live in a city that sparked my interest, but I never thought one like this was even possible.
Anyways, flash forward to right now. Decided it was a nice day to walk into the city instead of drive, and I had just left the grocery store.
I've been waiting for a while, and I can't tell if this light has lasted way to long, or if I'm just patient. After a bit of getting hasty I wait until a car is far away enough for me to gun it, and sprint across the street as quickly as I could.
"STOP RIGHT THERE!" Cried out the voice of someone..younger. Holy shit, was I actually gonna get beat up by preschoolers for j-walking?
"Hey! Uh..I'm sorry, okay? I just couldn't-"
It didn't take me very long to realize the girl I assumed to be named "blossom" wasn't talking to me. She was rather talking to a band of green men; potential monsters maybe. I could make out one of the bigger ones with red hair holding a few bags full of something, money maybe? And the man who stood in front wore sunglasses so dimmed you couldn't even see his eyes.
I had gotten so caught up in analyzing these strange criminals, that I had completely forgotten I was in some sort of danger zone, and I sure did pay the price for that. During the battle the man with the sunglasses had been hurled in an area to close for comfort. Next thing I knew I had fallen over, and broken the villains fall.
From the pain and brute force of hitting my head against the hard stone sidewalk, I exhale an exasperated "fuck," and move my hand to hold the part that hurt. That caught the guy's attention and he turned around to glance at me...or what I thought to be glancing. (They are REALLY dim.)
He just kind of froze there, had not spoken a word, and stayed in this, awkwardly uncomfortable position as he did so.
"Uhh.." I spoke, trying to see if he was zoning out or, in shock from pain or whatever. The sound of a Power-puff Girl coming in hot rang in my ears, and his too apparently as he sprouted to his feet and took off in the other direction. The child in blue floated into my field of vision as the other two chased after him in remarkable speed.
"Sorry for the disturbance," she said. "These guys never learn, no matter how many times they've been beaten." And with a smile, she was off with the rest.

I started walking back home after watching them disappear from my eyesight. That might have been the closest I've ever been to those girls and their showdowns, and of be lying if it wasn't a bit scary. And that green guy...I don't know why, but it struck my curiosity hard. Mostly in the categories of why he was an actual green man, or why he blanked out on me back there. I chose to be dismissive of it.
