Chapter 5

THE CONFERENCE CALL

I woke up in a room with five other faces looking at me. They were all sitting around a shiny glass table.

"Hi." I managed to say.

Then a strange creature with a green scaly face spoke, "Welcome Lily-Anne. Sorry for the short notice, but I couldn't send the letter into the TARDIS. This is one conversation you must not tell the Doctor about."

She said that rather firmly so I decided not to make her angry. "Okay." I answered. "Who are you exactly?"

"Sorry, I forgot about introductions. My name is Vastra, you can call me Madame Vastra and this is my wife, Jenny."

"Nice to meet you, miss." Jenny replied.

"And this is Strax." Madame Vastra explained.

"Pleasure to meet you, boy." Strax saluted.

"Um okay." I replied.

"And this is-" Vastra started.

"River Song and this is my daughter, Katelyn." River finished and Katelyn smiled and waved.

Madame Vastra tried again, "There is a reason we have called you here, that is the reason for the invasion of Daleks you had at house earlier. Now you know that time travel exists, the Daleks 'time travelled' to your house because they were following a very strong scent."

"That scent," started River, "was from a very strong source of discharged energy that was, for a reason we don't know yet, came up where you lived."

"We do know that the universe is being ripped apart and so all living creatures are travelling between different planets which explains the Dalek encounter you had." Katelyn stated.

There was quite a long silence of thought and astonishment until Jenny broke it with,"That is all we know, miss."

"Wow." I gasped in disbelief.
