THE AWKWARD ALIEN
"Andruite, then are you?" I asked.
"Yeah, um just in here please." he said as I stared into his glowing eyes.
"Oh yeah." I said as I followed him through the next small doorway. We entered the room and I realised that this was the building at the end of the long road. How did we get here so quickly? I wondered quietly to myself.
As I looked up, I saw that the roof of this room was much higher than the rest of the palace type place. I continued to follow Riley through the room with the high roof gaping down at us as we approached the table in the corner. Riley then stepped in front of me like he was guarding me from what this man might threaten me with.
"Sir, um this is the girl that your daughter found on the streets. Her name is-""Yes,yes,yes. She will make a fine servant to work with you, if I do say so myself." He muttered as he stuffed his face with some sort of alien bug. "Just take her and get her dressed and tell her what she has to do...etc etc."
"Yes sir. Uh, permission to leave sir?"
"Yes permission, now hurry up and get to work." he yelled as he stuffed yet another of those disgusting bugs into his huge jaws.As Riley turned to leave he ushered me out of the room and took me to another similar room, but this one looked like a typical laundry only much bigger.
There were brown dresses and aprons on one side of the room and pants and shirts and aprons on the other side. I guessed one was for female and the other was for the male servants. The only thing I didn't see was a place to change.
"So here is your dress and apron." He said as he unhung a pair of them.
"Thanks, um, where do I get changed?" I inquired.
He just looked at me slightly confused like I was from another planet, well I was but still. It seemed like he had no concept of privacy whatsoever.
"Uh, could you possibly turn around while I put on these clothes?" I asked.
He just laughed. "What do you mean turn around?"
"Well I'd like some privacy please." I motioned again for him to turn around.
"Why would I do that? I'm sure you have a perfectly beautiful body, I don't mind really."
I just glared at him.
"Alright." He said. I thought he'd given up. "But how about, since you are so afraid to get changed, then I will too at the same time so we both see each other, then it won't be unfair."
"No, that's not what I meant-" I turned away just in time. "Please put you clothes back on and turn around." I begged again.
"But-"
"Ding ding ding: Riley please make your way to my office. NOW!"
I heard the quick shuffle of clothes and then the running steps of Riley out the door.
"Thank goodness," I muttered to myself as I turn back around and quickly change before he has any chance of coming back.

"So..." He says after he's shown me what my job is to do.
"So what?" I ask back.
"You are human yes?" He asked.
"Yes, why?" I wondered.
"Oh, nevermind, I was just thinking." His eyes seemed to wander slowly away from mine.
"Well we better get back to work then." I say triumphantly but really just wanting to change the subject.
"I better head down to see what Petulia wants her dress to look like for the party tomorrow night. The Gnomedia Annual Ball I should say." I quickly jutted in.
"Alright, if you say so..." he said awkwardly.
As I made my way down the winding staircases and through small doors I found my way back to the first room I entered through on my first day here. Petulia the younger girl Gnome of the family was a very fussy one and considering I had to make her a dress I wanted to check all the details possible.
"Petulia, my lady," I addressed her.
"What? Oh yes come in." she motioned for me to sit on her bed.
"I just came to ask you more specifically about you dress for tomorrow. I just had to-"
"I would like a flowing lime green dress that comes in tight around here,"she said as she pointed towards her waist, "and it should have golden flowers draped across the skirt part and...." (I will spare your time by not describing all this in detail. As I said before,Petulia, when it came to Gnomes, was a very very fussy one.)
"Ok that's it?" I say nervously.
"That's the dress, yes, but I'll need some jewellery made too some that match the colour of the flowers-"
"Um sorry to interrupt but the crafting is actually Riley's job so you should ask him." I suggested, thinking that I really didn't have time to do jewellery as well.
"Oh, well you guys are in the same living quarters right?"
"Yeah... I could I guess..." Dammit, same living quarters too? Where are you Doctor?
"Yes? Good!" She exclaimed.
"Okay well, I best get started then, make sure you tell me if you have any changes you want to be made. Alright miss?" I checked.
"Sorry? Oh yeah right." she said while fiddling with something else on the floor.
Man, I'm gonna need so much more time if I wanna finish this by tomorrow. I thought as I closed the door behind me.
